If the jury’s still out on Nic Bendtner, they must be very close to returning a guilty verdict. Apart from his outstanding bit of defending for Liverpool, I’m finding it hard to pinpoint what impact he actually had on the game after coming on

Cesc took the game by the scruff of the neck and picked up the ball near the centre circle. He drove past a few challenges before arrowing a daisy-cutter towards the bottom corner

Fabregas had a glorious chance to pull level on the 45 minute mark when Walcott's wonderful wing play and cut back to Adebayor who spotted the Spaniard lurking on his right, played the ball to him but his curling effort was all terribly wrong

I write this barely an hour after the game so it’s very easy to be irrational and overcome by emotion. My opinion may change when I have a chance to digest everything.

Arsenal’s biggest first-half attacking threat came from right wing, where Eboue and Sagna were linking up well. Much credit to Sagna for coming back and being as solid as ever after such a testing time in his private life.

The biggest disgrace of all was Emmanuel Eboue. He was so anonymous in the first period that his red-card challenge on Evra five minutes into the second-half was his first meaningful contribution to the game

It was Hleb who came closest to doubling Arsenal's lead 4 minutes into the second half when he brought down a deep cross from Eduardo and cracked a shot
