I want him as well. I have never seen him play apart from the game at the Emirates when I wasn’t really paying attention to him but because everyone else wants him I think Wenger should buy him no matter what the price is. In fact, hold on
I chuckled to myself last night when I switched on my computer and read that Cesc Fabregas had been cleared of spitting at one of the two clowns that act as a management duo for Hull City.
A spokesperson at the FA said:
“The FA can confirm that, at a regulatory commission hearing, two charges of improper conduct against Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas were found not proved,”
“The charges related to Fabregas’s conduct following the FA Cup match between Arsenal and Hull at the Emirates Stadium on 17 March. One charge concerned his conduct after coming onto the pitch following the final whistle. The second charge related to an allegation of spitting.”
When you are fighting a relegation battle, after being in the Premier League for the first time in their history, then surely concentrating on surviving the drop who be their priority as apposed to getting into nonsense with a club bigger than they could ever dream of.
Sound arrogant do I?
Well just look at how both clubs conduct themselves and that should give me enough reason to be arrogant.
It would not quite be complete unless Hull City dropped out of the division into where they belong (no disrespect to other Championship sides for me associating Phil Brown’s Hull City with you)
As much as Newcastle United would be a good example to others of how not to run a football club, there wouldn’t be a duo who deserve relegation more than Horton and Brown.
Some very early weekend squad news is the possible absence of our first and second choice goalkeepers, Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski. Which could well mean a start for rookie Vito Mannone. If he does find his way into the team then he should feel a little happier that he is playing against a side who are safe from relegation and should spend more time trying to stop us scoring instead of peppering our goal. As long has he has been practicing his claiming of long throws and long punts then he should be ok, especially if he has the experienced Silvestre ahead of him *ahem* just kidding vesy, see we are such good mates that I even have my own nickname for him.
Just to slightly defend my dear pal, to show that I mean no harm. He was out for a length of time and didn’t have a run of games to get the much needed match sharpness before he was thrusted back into the team at the business end of the season, not going to be easy for any player, especially in a position where every mistake could be costly.
I still do not think he is a bad squad player, especially given the fact that he can fill in two positions but he should only be 4th choice and not any higher than that in this stage of his career. I was not against the signing at the time so I can hardly say anything against that now. Like some hindsight blogs that I will refrain from mentioning.
Speaking of central defenders, the media have been reading blogs and comments, I mean they have some inside knowledge on who Wenger wants to sign. I think they must have snuck in and stole Arsene’s transfer target notepad because we are about to swoop for Hangeland for £15 million. I want him as well. I have never seen him play apart from the game at the Emirates when I wasn’t really paying attention to him but because everyone else wants him I think Wenger should buy him no matter what the price is. In fact, hold on, be right back……
…….Sorry about that, just YouTubed him and he never lost a tackle in that clip, not only that but he won loads of headers so yep he is the one that we have to get. If we don’t then I will moan at Wenger until my heart is content, not that it will ever be content as I am sure I will always find something to moan about. After all I pay the players wages.
*small print – The last section of that was tongue in cheek, some people do not always get it and I get called all sorts of names which hurts my feelings tremendously and today is a day when I do not feel like crying.*
Just popping back to the ‘I pay the players wages with my season ticket’ argument, no offence if you have said this before but I really hate that. For a start we do not pay the players wages, we pay Arsenal football club, it is not tax, we do not have to pay Arsenal if we do not wish to. If it makes it any easier then it could be seen like this. Arsenal football club pay wages from the sponsorship deals and television cash and the season tickets can be used for repaying the stadium debts and the rest of the clubs outgoings.
When I go to Tesco’s where I best my best clothes, I am not paying the cashier’s wages when I buy an egg baguette. I am giving my money to Tesco’s the company. Anyway, I am sure you catch my drift now.
*some more small print – I don’t really buy my best clothes from Tesco’s it was something you would say to another kid in primary school. Not that there is anything wrong with buying clothes from Tesco.
Back tomorrow for a pre match talk kind of thingy bob.
