I had been elusive, I had duck and dived my way through these last few weeks. Everyone around me had fallen but not me, oh no, I was the one who was going to get away. Then I became complacent, nothing could catch me. I got up and Sunday morning and smack! I had been struck down by the deadly flu attack. So this afternoon I bring this to you from my sick bed, but don’t you worry I have thoroughly cleaned the keyboard, you shouldn’t catch anything.
Arsenal remain in second place in the league as Chelsea controversially beat Manchester United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United will probably drop out of the top four, they lack the squad depth of an Arsenal, and are currently lacking a tall commanding center half who would have dealt with yet another goal conceded from a set piece. Manchester United really need to start spending some money and not try to bring through youth players. Oh how I chuckle to myself. That of course was the usual collection of phrases used for our beloved Arsenal from all the clever pundits who know our club inside and out. Oh, I guess they don’t do they.
To be truthful I thought Manchester United would get seriously dominated by Chelsea and to their credit they were the team that tried to force the issue even with an ultra defensive line up. Rooney on his own and three holding players? Wow, talk about small club mentality. Do you remember the days when United went to every team regardless of stature with the intention of attacking them.
Ok, it wasn’t ideal. We wanted a draw but it does set Fergie’s lot a little further back which is good and we are just going to have to beat Chelsea to hault them in their tracks. The funny thing is, I am looking forward to that Chelsea game but I actually fear the Sunderland game. That is one tricky game, they are not to be confused with the likes of Wolves, Blackburn etc.
Anyway I have plenty of time to talk about that as we have now been dropped off once again in the middle of International week island. It takes bloody ages to get back home again. *sigh*
Cesc Fabregas believes that being Arsenal captain hasn’t changed him in the slightest.
Cesc said:
“The captaincy hasn’t changed me at all, My team-mates have done a great job for me as well, to be honest. They showed me they believe and help me with everything. There has never been any trouble so I am very happy with how things are going.”
Mr Fabregas really does seem to have grown up in the last year or so, maybe I am doing him a disservice, but this year he really does seem to be saying all the right things in the media and he looks like a man leading his team as apposed to a growing boy around other growing boys. It is hard to believe that he is only 22 years old. Now top goal scorer in all competitions and our leading assist maker it would be difficult to say that he hasn’t been our best player so far. The good thing is many Arsenal players would put up a strong argument against that statement.
Hasn’t Alex Song really grown up into a monstrous player. He appears to be Mr consistency right now. When you consider that he is roughly the same age as Cesc then you wonder how good our midfield will be when they hit their mid twenties. *shivers at the thought*
Going back to Cesc for a momento, he makes a great point about not getting carried away.

We don’t look at ‘The Invincibles’ or whatever the name was, We are Arsenal and a young team who are trying to do our best.
There will be a time when we cannot score goals and everyone will say there is a crisis. We just have to keep going being ourselves and play at 100 per cent.
“We are scoring goals but we have to be ready because one day it will not happen like that and be not so easy. We will have to be patient and it is in that moment where we have to be strong.”
Very well said Mr Fabregas. There will be a time when we cannot score goals and everyone will say there is a crisis he obviously knows the Arsenal supporters pretty well now, but it is true. We simply cannot continue to score 3 or 4 goals every game and when/if that time comes the team will have to remain together and fight together. Hopefully if that is to happen then our defence will have stopped gifting goals away. There is no reason why we cannot tighten up, man for man our back four is very good and no worse than the other contenders.

I have been running Arsenal Vision for a few years now and have watched it develop and grow over the years. It is funny how it is now part of my routine. If I cannot write an article for whatever reason, I feel a little weird. A little like leaving the house without brushing your teeth. The very first Arsenal Vision was pretty crap to be honest, never made a website before I put up a really bodged site. That was improved when I learnt how to do certain things. A few years later I put my hand in my pocket and got a proper designer to create the one we have at present.
It is now in need of a change, we have some fundamental issues with it, i.e. too much red, lack of space, no rss feed etc etc so it is currently being redesigned which will require some more hand in pocket action. I have thought about asking for a donation in the past but have always felt a little uneasy about it, not sure why really. Many sites have and will continue to do so. So I thought it would be nicer for the readers if there was a chance that I could give something back. I have a brand new copy of the latest Football Manager series from Sega which is compatible for the PC or Mac.
Donations can be made through the paypal button on this page. They can be for as little or as much as you like but they have to be made before Monday 16th November at midnight and I will pick someone out at random and announce it in the afternoon blog next Monday.
Don’t forget you can submit your own articles and receive feedback from fellow Gooners, go ahead, get something off your chest. Just click on the Your Vision section and paste or type in your article.
