Do not write off kids yet / FA cup team choices

Many of these young players will be loaned out and I would guess that some of them may not return, only the boss really knows who he thinks have a genuine chance of making it

Last night I wrote about the Cesc Fabregas to Milan story as being nonsense and it got me thinking. Why do the media continuously link our players away from our club but they do not do the same with others such as Gerrard, Rooney, Terry, Lampard etc.

Cesc Fabregas is going to have to come back out once again and deny these stupid comments, when you can clearly see that he was asked which Italian club he likes. Is it me or is it so bloody obvious?

Anyway, it appears that we are still fighting against the big clubs in this country as well as bad refereeing and media bull so the club have plenty to overcome.

I sound a little paranoid today perhaps, but I certainly think there is some truth to the anti Gooner angle.

There seems to be some talk about what sort of team should play in the FA cup this season. Some feel we should continue with the kids while some think we should go all out and play the first team in an attempt to put some silverware on the table.

I personally would like a mixture of the two. It would be a good chance to see what the future has in store for the club. I want to see the likes of Wilshere, Vela and Ramsey playing alongside Cesc, Clichy and Van Persie. It would give key youth players first team experience without upsetting other first team members.

It would also give Arsene a better idea of which players are ready for proper first team action and not just a totally different team.

Many of these young players will be loaned out and I would guess that some of them may not return, only the boss really knows who he thinks have a genuine chance of making it.

The obvious three look to have a very good shot at a future at the club (Wilshere, Ramsey and Vela) while the others have been written off by many already. But it would be right to point out that many of these young players have plenty of developing to do still. Development is not purely based on age, every player is different physically and mentally. How many 16 year olds have you seen like Wayne Rooney? At 16 Rooney was probably stronger than a 28 year old Alex Hleb.

It looks like Mark Randall will be making his way out on loan somewhere and Jay Simpson could be heading to Norwich on loan. Simpson has plenty of competition ahead of him so he has a challenge to make it to first team squad level.

He is apparently close to agreeing a new 3 year contract with Arsenal so that is a good sign. West Brom and Derby county are said to be keen on taking him on loan. It will be little use if he does not get many games as Mark Randall suffered last season.

I am looking forward to the Wigan match on the weekend which I will talk more about tomorrow and Saturday morning.

Have a great day Gooners.
