I read alot of forums and blogs and like to hear other fans views and opinions but I just end up getting annoyed with alot of short term looking fans. I think alot of them are probably 13 years old so I shouldn’t get so irritated
Is it just me or did you have a slight sick feeling after the final whistle last night? Knowing that we SHOULD have been in the semi finals and that one English team will win the champions league made me feel annoyed.
Oh and how good is Messi? His close control his something else. How he would enhance our team ever so slightly.
I was watching the Manchester United back four closely and how they dealt with Barcelona and it was clear that we still have alot of sort out in that department. Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown were solid for United and dealt with most things that Barca threw at them.
It is strange because both Toure and Gallas are good defenders in their own right but they can make the most basic mistakes. It is not even just a case of high balls. Robert Earnshaw’s goal for Derby was the perfect example. One simple pass through the middle and Gallas and Song were nowhere to be seen.
It seems to me that Wenger does not do hardly any defensive work, well if he does then it is not working very well. Alot of fans would like to see someone like Tony Adams brought in to solve the defensive side of things but I am not sure if it is as straight forward as that.
Defending is not just a back four problem, it is a team job. George Graham’s Arsenal were not a just a great back four but they worked together as a team when the opposition had the ball. Two full backs were not allowed to go beyond the halfway line at the same time. The whole team had to practice defensive drills over and over again. Most of the ‘famous four’ have said many times that it was so boring and so tedious but it taught them how to defend.
Now, try and tell Arsene Wenger that someone is going to come in and take over from his preparations or how he wants the game played.
I would like to see a compromise though. I do not know what Arsene’s training sessions are but some work on attack against our back four and keeper could help. The trouble with that is that our fullbacks and even Toure (when at center back) are important to our attacking play.
Arsene Wenger has said that we were one game away from winning the league title this season and when you look at the situation now he is not far from the truth is he? Even with our awful slump over the last couple months. We SHOULD have run away with the title this season and it is sad that it has finished in this way.
Wenger said: “I feel we were one game away in this championship. If we win at Old Trafford, we are champions.
“It’s just one game, and in that game we were 1-0 up and we had two or three chances to score the second goal, so you cannot say we had a bad season.
How some fans can come out with things like ‘we need to buy 6 new players’ is just pure madness.
So if Manchester United lost one extra game this season would they have to rebuild their whole squad? How about Chelsea? If they finish second should they then sack Grant and sell half the squad and buy 8 superstars??
Bollocks! of course not.

I expect some people to disagree with me as well (even though I am always right *wink) so that is the beauty of the game I guess.
What most people disagree on this season is our top goalscorer Emmanuel Adebayor. Arsene has been surprised himself by his goal return.
“I didn’t think Adebayor would reach 30 goals this season,” Wenger told the club’s official website. “I thought he would get 15.
“In this team you can score goals when you play up front because we always go forward and you get good service.
I am slightly surprised to hear Arsene say that to be honest. He usually builds players up saying that he knew he was capable of doing that or always had the potential to do it etc
I still feel very uncomfortable when I hear that fans think he should be replaced. Has there been a striker in Premiership history that has scored 30 goals and his own fans want him out of the club? Complete madness. He guy isn’t even supposed to be our main goalscorer. He was our second striker who provides ariel threat and does the hard work for the likes of Van Persie and Eduardo.
Alot of people say that anybody can come in to our team and score 30 goals because of the chances we create. I would love to see Adebayor’s goals to chances ratio and compare that to our other forwards. I bet only Eduardo is possibly higher. I don’t even believe that he actually gets many goalscoring chances during matches because he is doing so much donkey work for the team like running into channels and trying to link up the midfield. Yes, that is a part of his game that needs work because his final pass is not always the best but please remember the guys age. He is 24. Not 34.. 24!!
Right that is about the size of it for now. Leave a comment in the below and have a great day.
Until tomorrow.
