Early FA Cup Talk

I was hoping he would get his chance in the center of midfield alongside Gilberto but unfortunately his injury will keep him out of the tie.

Good afternoon,

Saturday’s FA Cup clash is on alot of players lips today.

It is a little bit of a strange scenario this time round as both teams and managers will have at least one eye firmly set on the all important champions league clashes a few days later. I have already been questioned for suggesting that Wenger may not play his strongest side but no matter how you look at it, the FA Cup is just not as important as the champions league.

Abou Diaby has said that Arsenal have no plans to play in first gear against second placed Manchester United

“I think we want to play well in every competition whether it’s the FA Cup, the Champions League or the League,” Diaby told Arsenal TV Online. “We want to win all of them because we are a big club and we want to win trophies. This Saturday is very important to us.

“Maybe a win will give us a psychological advantage. We just want to give our best and win the game.”

I was hoping he would get his chance in the center of midfield alongside Gilberto but unfortunately his injury will keep him out of the tie. It is a shame that we have not seen Diaby have a long run of matches in the center because he would be a fantastic player right now but he has not had the chance to develop properly as yet.

Infact I expect the team to look something like this.

Lehmann
Hoyte Toure Gallas Clichy
Eboue Gilberto Flamini Rosicky
Bendtner Eduardo

I think Arsene would have liked to rest Gallas for the match but we do not have enough cover in that position right now, Senderos is probably likely to be rested as he played through injury against Blackburn on Monday night.

Our team against Milan will be our strongest line up at the moment

Almunia/Lehmann
Sagna Toure Gallas Clichy
Hleb Flamini Cesc Rosicky
Adebayor Eduardo

Arsene will have to choose between Senderos or Toure, and Jens or Almunia

If Manchester United make alot of changes then we will beat them, if they play a full strength team then we could lose. Either way it should be an interesting game.

Alex Hleb has said that the team are now over the defeat against those lot from down the road.

It was very important for us to get things right again after the Spurs defeat,” Hleb said. “Sometimes matches like that one happen in football – maybe we didn’t have the right level of concentration.”
