Final Chelsea thoughts / All change for Anfield

I mentioned before but I would have liked to have seen us line up 4-2-3-1 with our creative players doing what they do best and ask them to hand Chelsea some questions

Good afternoon Evening.

I got my times slightly wrong today, I attempted to write something this afternoon but had to stop to have a fight against a migraine which I lost, The fight is over with now so I will jot down a few words.

It looks like all change ahead of the game tomorrow evening, Van Persie and Adebayor are out of the Liverpool game due to injuries. Adebayor has a slight hamstring problem that Wenger would like to rest while Robin Van Persie has been feeling his groin again *sorry*

I expected at least one of them to have been rested anyway regardless of injury as they have had plenty of intense games recently.

The good news is that we have no more defensive injuries, in fact we could see a return for Bacary Sagna which should tighten up our defence from Saturday.

I do not want to go into the game against Chelsea too much because it has been talked out enough, there is only so much you can say about it. My final thoughts on that and in future is that regardless of injury to key personnel I would like to see our team play to their strengths. George Graham practiced defensive drills so much so that it made the players bored. Arsene Wenger encourages open attacking, possession football. The players are used to playing a certain way, asking them to adjust their game and to focus on counteracting another team is not the squads strong point.

I am not sure that playing more defensively would help stop goals going in against us when we invite pressure on ourselves. Keeping the ball at the other end of the pitch is the best form of defence.

I mentioned before but I would have liked to have seen us line up 4-2-3-1 with our creative players doing what they do best and ask them to hand Chelsea some questions. It seemed as if after we scored we were waiting pad and pencil in hand waiting to answer questions. Drogba has fooled us enough already in the past.

It is something that the squad and perhaps the manager may learn from, perhaps not. Maybe if we played our normal game we could have lost 4-0, we shall never know that now.

Anyway, that is enough of that now. It is time to look forward.

I suspect we will get back to playing our usual style at Anfield with probably Bendtner leading the line with Arshavin, Nasri and perhaps Diaby behind him. Cesc is likely to be partnered with sir Alex Song.

It would be nice to see Eduardo start the game in a center forward role but I am not sure Wenger would start him in a lone role at Anfield. We should have a pretty strong team out there tomorrow. Proper post match talk tomorrow. Post up at normal time tomorrow.
