Do you feel any better about Saturdays result? I have had time to reflect on it and it still feels a little shitty but it was clear beforehand that it was not our priority and we just wanted to get through the game without any injuries. I think the main problem was that it is against our rival, just like the Carling cup semi final. If we were beaten by Everton 5-1 then you would not have heard many murmurings from our fans. Manchester United feel very proud of themselves right now so maybe we should let them get on with it and just make sure we show them what for in the league match.
So next up we face Ac Milan is our second most important priority of the season. I am still waiting to hear from the boss about the current state of our squad. I assume Flamini, Adebayor and Clichy will all be ready to play the 90 minutes. I am not sure what is happening with Bacary Sagna and his personal issue.
How long will it be until Van Persie is back fit enough for a place on the bench? He has been back in training for a few weeks now and I am sure Arsene has been working on his sharpness as well as his fitness. What Arsene will not want to do is bring him back when he is not ready, so he breaks down again. Any more complications and it will almost be certain that he will miss the rest of the season.
Brazilian duo Kaka and Pato are back for Milan who have just lost another Brazilian Ronaldo for 9 months or so. Kaka has praised Arsenal ahead of the clash.
“This tie against Arsenal will be open and more interesting than if Milan had been drawn against Liverpool or Chelsea, teams that play more in the traditional English style.
“They play football the way we like it to see it in Brazil, with style, changing position all the time, moving the ball among themselves so quickly.
“Say ‘Arsenal’ and that is what we think of. People talk about the history of Manchester United or Liverpool but look what Arsenal achieved with the team of Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira. Monsiour Flamini will have his work cut out to stop the floating playmaker. Arsene doesn’t normally make plans to stop opposition players but maybe Arsene will have a quick word with Flamini about Kaka. Stop him and that will be a big part of the job done.
