Eduardo got his chance about a minute after the second half and swivelled and shot past Howard. This guy is as natural a goalscorer as anyone I have ever seen

I haven’t been happier about being wrong in a long time. Everton 1 Arsenal 0 was my prediction before the match and I could not find much in the way of confidence before the game started. I was hoping to see Bendtner start the match alongside Adebayor in attack and my wishful thinking was almost correct. I didn’t expect to see Eduardo Da Silva start the match alongside Bendtner with Adebayor on the bench. How would our Carling cup strike force fair against the inform Everton side which Arsenal have struggled to beat especially away from home in the last few seasons.
Like alot of Gunners fans I feared the worst when Cahill used his studds to poke home the opening goal for the home side. Luckily it was early in the match and that gave us time to get back into the game.
Everton were the better team for most of the first half and deserved to be winning the game. Once again we were not really creating much in the way of goalscoring chances and everything just seemed a bit flat like it has done in the past few weeks.
Eduardo got his chance about a minute after the second half and swivelled and shot past Howard. This guy is as natural a goalscorer as anyone I have ever seen. His second goal was pure class, he is in the right place at the right time. Bendtner flicked on a long pass which fell to Eduardo, the Brazilian Croatian chested it down flicked it past Jagielka who fell over and Eduardo curled it around Howard with ease. Apart from his goals he could not get himself into the game and found the physical side of the game difficult to cope with but if he can pop up at the right time and finish as he does then the rest of his game isn’t as important. We have a team of great footballers who sometimes do everything else apart from put the ball in the net, so Eduardo could well be our fox in the box at long last.
Bendtner’s red card was stupid, very stupid. It would have been terrible if we hadn’t won the game because of that reason. Hopefully he will learn and is still a fantastic young player who deserves chances in the first team. Robin Van Persie has also been involved in stupid tackles like that in his younger days and he has turned into a fantastic player, albeit an always injured fantastic player.
Ade and Rosicky added to the goals and we strangely won 4-1 even though we were outplayed for big chunks on the game. Would it have been different if Eduardo played at Portsmouth? Who knows. That draw now seems like a good result.
Well done to West Ham for beating Man U, it is nice to see teams having a go at them and not just shaking in their boots. Lets hope others take note.
