According to various tabloid we are after the diamond Guiza (sorry, that was poor) from Real Mallorca to replace Emmanuel Adebayor. No quotes or anything substantial
Early bird today, woken up at 5am (ouch) so it is a good time to write something I guess.
This morning appears to be a fresh day of transfer speculation. Tribalfootball will be pleased.
Firstly the Arshavin to Arsenal rumour will continue to run as Wenger described the way he plays as ‘Very Special’
“I wish I’d seem him at 21 or 22,” he said. “I predict he will come to the Premier League, or go to a big club in Italy. The way he plays is something very special.
“He could be tempted by wanting to play in the best league, of course. And it could happen. Would you be surprised? If you ask me do I think he will be in the Premier League? I would say yes because that’s a prediction.”
But the Frenchman added: “Maybe he’ll want to stay because they play in the Champions League.”
I wonder why our manager does not think he will go to Spain. Especially as the player himself came out and declared his interest to join Barcelona.
My guess is that Arsene will attempt to try and bring Arshavin to Arsenal but he will have stiff competition from clubs around the world. Stumbling blocks could well be his high wages, he is being paid very well at his current club. He has also put his eggs in the Spanish basket so it might be a non starter. I am just hoping that if Arsene is interested that he gets the chance to speak to the player. It looks like Arsene has taken some tips from Little Britain and could use his Hypnosis powers.

Wenger caught speaking to the player in a restaurant? the press intercepting the fax from Arsenal to Real Mallorca? Or someone writing for a paper just swirling their hands through a hat full of cut up pieces of paper with different names on? You decide which one is most likely.
A more likely target is Brazilian striker Diogo. Apparently we have had a bid rejected for the highly rated youngster but there are now other clubs joining the race. The only video footage I have found of anyone called Diogo is of some player punching another, which is strange. Secret weapon from the bench perhaps? I guess it is a way to stop Ronaldo isn’t it? Hold on, he is hopefully not going to be playing in this league anyway, hardy har har.
Away from speculation if you can drag yourself away for a moment. Arsene Wenger has tipped Germany to go on and win the European Championships.
“Germany always appear to have unrest in the camp, but when they go into a match they are united. They are one of the few countries I know whose players can have a go against each other in the newspapers two days before a game, but they go into a game united and very strong.
“They always have a kind of simplicity in their collective game. They never use too many touches, they keep it simple and they play as a team, and in the final third they are very efficient.”
“I think Germany will edge Spain in the final. They have a belief that comes from their history and that history gives them strength.
It is hard to disagree with him, as much as I would rather see Spain win (or Russia for that matter) I cannot see them getting past the strength of the Germans.
Have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.
Until tomorrow.
