What a splendid weekend for the Gunners. I remember saying that on a few occasions this season when we were eleven points behind Chelsea and written off for the second time. We have not had one of those great weekend for a little while, it has been more of a case of keeping up with the other two until Birmingham scored a fluke goal deep into stoppage time.

Chelsea did not play this weekend but Manchester United minus Wayne Rooney were at Blackburn. Rooney was rushed back to limp around the pitch against Bayern Munich and that decision may well have cost Alex Ferguson the title. I cannot quite poke my tongue out and flap my fingers on my face because Arsene made very similar risks with Cesc and Gallas, both players now ruled out for the season.

£30 million pound signing Dimitar Berbatov walked and jogged around at Ewood Park and his flicks wasn’t enough to grab a goal. If we win at Shite Hart Lane on Wednesday we go above United with equal games played. That will be the first time in a long time.

*clap clap clap clap* that is to the Portsmouth players who dragged Tottenham into extra time then delivered the jab and knock out punch in the end. Wilson Palacios picked up a suspension for what I thought was a good challenge and Niko Krancjar twisted his ankle which could mean that the Croatian will miss the midweek game.

This weekend will mean nothing at all if we do not beat our rivals neighbours. You can imagine that Arsene will look to exploit the fatigue of the Tottenham legs by saving Theo on the bench, play a patient game and look to kill off the game in the final twenty. A strategy that always worries me but one that has paid off many times this season.

Before this Bolton go to Stamford Bridge, as much as I would love the unthinkable to happen, i.e. Wilshere waltzing through in injury time to slot wide of Cech to grab the equaliser. I just do not see Chelsea letting slip at such a crucial time at home against a team like Bolton. Beating Tottenham is the only thing that matters right now.

I was not aware of this new transfer window that is open in April. Why didn’t someone tell me? This can only be the reason why we have so many transfer stories coming out of the woodwork.

Cesc is off to Manchester City? Oh please! That really is not good enough is it?

Sebastian Frey is coming to us again, no seriously this time it is going to happen.

I am waiting for the Miguel Veloso rumours to get going. It is not far away that’s for sure. Clearly fans lap up the whole transfer thing and I can understand the excitement of a new player joining the club but what I do not understand is the copying between supporters.

Why has Hugo Loris replaced Igor Akinfeev as the must buy keeper. Poor old Igor, what did he do to deserve the demotion. Sunderland’s Cana was an absolute legend last summer and was the answer to all our problems. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar cannot make it at Real or Milan yet he is the man to take us to the next level.

What I do not understand is the way that these names are passed from one fan to another. I find it amazing how rumour turns into fact, especially when the person hasn’t even seen the player play before. But hey such is life.

I am interested in the players we have at the club at present, if we can find the right player(s) who can improve the squad then hey, I am all for it. I am excited to know how Chamakh will adapt to the team and any other players who look likely to join.

Anyhow I am sure we will be hearing plenty more transfer rumours in the coming months.

Back again tomorrow.
