There are at least 5 players in the second team that many of you would argue should be in the first team and probably would be if Arsene selected the team
Quick post today, time has run away from me and at my age there is no hope of catching up again.
I listened to Arsene’s press conference yesterday and was very happy to hear about Tomas Rosicky’s progress.
Wenger said:
“He is working on the pitch, He has touched the ball for the first time this week and we are quite positive about him – maybe more than he is.
“He could be the good surprise of the season because in six or seven weeks he has a chance to be back.”
I almost felt a touch emotional at the prospect of seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I thought about the squad and the quality that we miss and wanted to see what the squad would look like at full strength. Well, take a look.

There are at least 5 players in the second team that many of you would argue should be in the first team and probably would be if Arsene selected the team. The likes of Denilson, Nasri, Eduardo, Toure and Walcott would easily have a valid point as to why they find themselves out of the starting team.
This is not including the young talent that we have such as Merida, Simpson, Traore, Hoyte who are all getting better with games. I have bemoaned the amount of injuries that we have suffered to key personnel in the past so I won’t go over that. But what I will say is that our previous league triumphs have seen much fewer injuries. It is a shame that the season has to finish in May, had it ended in July then we could well be looking at other targets.
I know I sound like a broken record but had we been luckier with injuries and say for example had Eboue out instead of Rosicky and perhaps Song out as apposed to Cesc then we could well be in a different situation. No offence intended to those players but the truth is we have missed first choice key players for huge parts of the season.
I almost look ahead to next season before this one has already finished, forgetting that we are well and truly in with a Champions League shout.
Speaking of which, Cesc Fabregas could well be in with a shout of making a return in the Champions League game against Roma on the 24th Feb.
I am sure Wenger as always will want to give his players more time away from the team just in case.
Plenty more to say but out of time *sigh* I will talk about the game against Spurs, the hopeful inclusion of Arshavin tomorrow.
