First things first, I would like to say Happy new year to you all you gooners and thank you all for coming to the site. The numbers have been growing over the last year and the response has been positive so enjoy 2008 and hopefully we can all end the year as Champions at least.
I am writing this a little worse for wear as alot of people are today after another new years eve. Too much beer + not much sleep * stressed girlfriend = Serious short term damage.
Hopefully the Gunners can be my medicine later on this afternoon. Bacary Sagna is off from work today, he has been allowed a day of rest so Justin Hoyte comes in for him. What happened to the Lassana Diarra at right back? Maybe this means that he will start in the center of midfield in place of Flamini. If he is on the bench then it will not make a whole load of sense as Diarra brings alot more going forward than Hoyte does which is always a bonus especially at home.
I would imagine that foxy will continue alongside Adebayor in attack, would be nice if he goes through a little purple patch of goals. Well if there is a time for that then it would be now. Could 2008 be the year of goals for Eduardo.
According to Arseblog, Carlos Vela is having his loan spell cut short so he can join our first team. I am not sure what the facts are exactly but it would be interesting. I doubt that Wenger will throw him straight into the first team, he will need to settle in to the squad and English football so I am not sure when exactly he would be ready if he is to join. His pace and talent could be very beneficial towards the end of the season.
Lassana Diarra is being linked with a move away from us. Everton have been the latest side to reportedly show an interest in the midfielder. If he doesn’t play feature then that would indicate that he is off. No matter what happens, we cannot sell him to Tottenham, that would be very bad indeed.
Right, I am off to lunch, enjoy the match and your new years.
