I would like to see Bendtner continue in the attack to show him the faith to give him a bit of confidence but I think like many 3 games in a short space of time will be too much for the Dane
The confidence is back in the squad, a semi final lurking in the background against the former money bags Chelsea all that stands in the way is a victory against a free falling Hull City.
Our recent form has restored that spark amongst the supporters and players and I feel confident whoever we play now. When we went through the period of drawing games you had the last result in the back of your mind and it is even more relevant for the players so the 4-0 against Blackburn will do the squad the world of good.
We can expect rotation tonight throughout the squad. I expect many of the faces who sat on the bench against Blackburn to start the game. Abou Diaby, Robin Van Persie, Kieron Gibbs, William Gallas, Carlos Vela and Fabianski will start the game, it is unfortunate that goal king Eddie misses the game through injury, especially after his recent FA Cup goalscoing exploits.

I really think that Bacary Sagna is in need of a rest, I don’t remember the last time he sat on the bench for a breather, Kolo Toure is likely to have a rest so that leaves us short in cover on that side. Goal sensation Emmanuel Eboue may well have to slot back into right back with instructions not to go searching for more goals because we would be terribly exposed on that side, especially if Theo is ahead of him on the pitch.
Mean Lean’s Predicted Line Up

Many see the Hull victory at the Emirates as a season turning result, I think it would be a great way to wipe that memory from the players minds and show how much we have improved since then, I suppose also show how far they have gone backwards.
I will be interested to see how the team line up, much depends on where Carlos Vela plays, if he plays wide then you can expect the 4-2-3-1 again if he is pushed up alongside Van Persie (should he start) then we will revert back to the 4-4-2. It is partnership that I would be interested to see, especially if Robin is playing a little deeper. Vela is good at moving off the ball and is quick so Van Persie can release him as Arshavin does.
Mean Lean’s Match Prediction
Arsenal 3 (Van Persie, Vela 2) Hull City 0
I predicted Van Persie first free kick of the season last season, today I feel it is one of those law of averages days.
Other News
Arsene Wenger has had a few things to say during his usual weekly talk to the press. Cesc Fabregas is close to returning to the fold and Wenger has been speaking about how the team has had to deal with his absence.
“I believe we will all be happy when Cesc comes back but we had to cope without him and of course, I believe it will be a big lift for everybody when he’s back. But we had to do without him.
“When he’s there, everything goes through him but when he’s not it can take a while to adapt because the game goes through different ways – it’s plural. When it’s Fabregas it is more one-way traffic at the start of the build-up.”
It will be interesting to see how the team adjust to his comeback. I like many are looking forward to watching how Cesc and Arshavin combine.
The Cesc and Denilson partnership should work better as Denilson has improved a great deal since November.
Nicklas Bendtner has been the talk of many Arsenal fans over the last few weeks. Earlier in the season he was being spoken about as being the replacement for Adebayor due to his better finishing ability, these days he is completely rubbish and should be sold. It is interesting how quickly players can change from world class to Ryman league level.
Wenger has had his say on the Dane.
“I agree he had a good game [against Blackburn] but a bad scoring record on the day,” said the Frenchman.
“What is interesting with him is that his performance improves. I’ve seen players miss chances before when they are young and then once they start to score they quickly get impressive. Just imagine if he had taken two of his chances [on Saturday], everyone would have said what a great game he had. He was not far away from taking two chances so let’s support him, be positive and encourage him.”
I think that last part is key, support, encourage and support him. Unfortunately that seems very difficult for some fans, which of course is their own choice but they must know that it does not help the player or the team which ultimately does not help themselves.
Fingers crossed for our boys tonight, have a good day and leave your view in the comments section.
