Hyperactive Ramblings As Rambo, Koscielny And Walcott Impress

This article was published this afternoon but due to a server move it wasn’t picked up by the news feeds. So I am republishing it. A match of the day viewing later and I am still buzzing but bed is now calling.

I have so much to do today but there is one emotion that is stopping me from living my life this Saturday afternoon. Joy.

I have bombarded Twitter with hyperactive ramblings so I thought I would quickly do the same here before I try and compose myself. I am supposed to be trying to set an example to my children yet I am walking around the house punching the air, screaming random thoughts out about the game.

I cannot help but think back to Arsene’s speech at the AGM.

“I would just like personally to turn round the scepticism that is surrounding this club at the moment. For me it is too high. And if I would just like to achieve one thing today it is ‘trust us, this team has qualities, this team will fight’.

“And if you help us to do that I think we will have a successful season.”

It was one game but a very difficult game, a game where we showed, (without wanting to sound like Arsene himself) tremendous character.

Aaron Ramsey was absolutely sensational today and following his Stoke City display, he could be close to his best. His pass for van Persie’s first goal was eye of the needle stuff. A reversed slice pass into the path of Gervinho who may have gone for goal himself if he had scored from Walcott’s pass earlier on in the half.

I make this Theo’s first big away display against a top side. At least for the past few years. This is the Theo we want to see consistently. His movement off the ball was great, his touch and passing was where we need it to be. I loved his goal, bouncing back up from the floor shifting the ball  between both feet to escape some awful Chelsea defending and his finish was typical Theo. Smash! Czech no chance.

Czech was dismal throughout the game and would be castigated if he was registered to Arsenal football club. Those who are still writing off Laurent Koscielny need to check themselves into a hospital, something isn’t right and you need to be looked at closely.

He may not look like the traditional center back who is 6ft5, pointy and shouty. He is technically one of the best defenders that I have ever seen at any level. If Arsene was unsure who to play alongside Vermaelen then surely that as well as Marseille and all the other top quality displays will have answered his question.

I couldn’t believe it when Jamie Redknapp said that Koscielny had come of age today. If the idiot actually watched Arsenal games properly without doing his research from The Sun newspaper then maybe he would have noticed many top performances until today.

It is time to draw the line under the summer and the start of this season. This team has always been better than it was showing. We all knew that deep down.

I think I will leave actual match thoughts for later on when I calm down, hopefully have them up for tomorrow. But Gooners, enjoy this weekend. This is what it is about, it is about after every victory. Don’t let people tell you to celebrate once you have won a trophy. What would be the point in watching football if that was the case.

And before I go, let us all have a laugh at Jonathon Terry
