Injuries, the good, the bad, the wonderful

Now to the great news, Eduardo is close to a first team comeback which is just wonderful. Not only does it provide us with another quality player at our disposal but it adds to the feel good factor that has started to take shape over the last few weeks

Now there is a surprise, Cesc Fabregas rejects Ac Milan claim. It still really gets on my last nerve how the media are allowed to make up whatever the liked in order to feed their own agendas. Well there isn’t much we can do apart from ignore whatever crap they decide to print/speak/post etc

Some mixed injury news today starting with the good. Kolo Toure is back in the squad following a calf problem that kept him out for the last few squads. We could well be in a situation where Kolo finds himself last in the pecking order for one of the center back slots (not including Alex Song) Which must be difficult for a player who was always one of the first names on the team sheet.

The bad news is that William Gallas is out with a calf strain which makes me suspicious of Kolo Toure. Toure recovers from his and his direct competition pulls up with the same problem. Toure, I am not stupid! I know your game. He obviously swapped calfs when no one was looking.

It is a shame to be honest as Gallas had a fantastic game against Chelsea and I also think that his partnership with Johan Djourou could well grow and develop into a top pairing.

The one position where you do not want a host of changes is at center back. So far this season we have had

Gallas Djourou

Gallas Toure

Gallas Silvestre

Gallas Djourou

A successful side does not usually have a center back pairing that is changed around so frequently. We could see a new pairing of Djourou and Silvestre against Wigan. I say new but I am sure they featured together in the Carling cup at some point.

Now to the great news, Eduardo is close to a first team comeback which is just wonderful. Not only does it provide us with another quality player at our disposal but it adds to the feel good factor that has started to take shape over the last few weeks (after the Gallas situation of course)

Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he was an inch away from signing for Arsenal. This of course isn’t new to Gooners. I have heard rumours that Arsene wants to buy a wide player in January, which would make it interesting if everyone was fit but I guess that is the point. When is everyone ever fit? I would like to know when the last time the whole first team was available to play. If anyone knows then let me know in the comments but I doubt anyone will know.

I would like to know how close or far Tomas Rosicky is to returning. If we can keep our best players fit from now on then we can have a successful second half of the season.

A couple of signings in January (perhaps) along with two experienced first team players returning would make a big difference to this Arsenal side.
