Adebayor is currently starting to show massive improvement in his performances. I remember watching him on his debut and he looked gangly and a tad awkward

There have been alot of articles about Adebayor over the last couple of weeks, it just reflects what a player is doing on the pitch. Most people are shocked to see Adebayor scoring goals quite naturally at the moment. The big Togo hitman looked anything like natural in his early days at Arsenal football club.
The same was said about record goalscorer Thierry Henry.
Henry was a reserve team left winger at Juventus and he made the choice to leave and join former boss Arsene Wenger in England. Watching back the footage of a young wide player at Arsenal you see a player with talent and pace but with rough edges. Thierry had alot of developing to do, alot of learning and perfecting of his game.
When Henry was moved as a central striker I thought to myself:
‘Arsene?! What are you doing? We already have Suker and Bergkamp we don’t need Henry playing in that role’
Thierry Henry started scoring goals and started playing well. Arsene was right once again. Henry went on a fantastic goalscoring spree scoring in 10 consecutive matches. What I noticed was that he started adding 20% to his performances every season. Just when you thought he was doing well, he would come back the next season and look even better. Henry turned into this graceful, powerful and gifted striker. He did not look like that in 1999
Adebayor is currently starting to show massive improvement in his performances. I remember watching him on his debut and he looked gangly and a tad awkward. You could see that he had talent but you knew there was alot of work to be done for him to become world class.
Henry and Adebayor are two very different players and cannot be compared. They both bring different things to a team but if Adebayor can continue to develop at the rate that he is then he will be as important as a Frenchman once was.
The Emmanuel Adebayor of 2008 looks very confident and on top of his game. His work ethic cannot be rivaled in world football right now in his position.
Adebayor is a blend of Drogba and Kanu. Quicker and more powerful than Kanu but more nimble and mobile than Drogba. The Chelsea man is still a better finisher than his rival but Adebayor is surprisingly only ***24 years old*** and will be better than both of them given time.
When Arsene signed Eduardo in the summer, there was always the danger of Adebayor being pushed back to third choice striker behind Van Persie and the Croatian but Adebayor has showed that he is the new number 1. We shall see if he can step up another level next season.
