Eboue being suspended for a further 2 matches and Rosicky on deaths door means that the young Englishman can get his chance
We are back to Monday already!
Nice weekend everyone? No, I thought as much. I have just started to come to terms with all that happened.
At least Eduardo is sounding positive about the whole thing and the injury may not be career threatening after all although it is early days at the moment.
Eduardo said: “I don’t remember the incident very well and it is not something that I want to see again on television or in the newspapers,” he said.
“All I remember is that when I fell, I looked down at my foot and it had turned the other way. The rest is just a blank. It was an unfortunate situation but these things can happen in football.
“I am unsure at the moment of the extent of the injury and how long I will be out of action for but I know that I won’t be able to play for Arsenal for the rest of the season or be ready in time for the Euros this summer.
“But I’m not worried about that. My concentration and determination is on making as quick a recovery as possible. I am determined to overcome this injury.”
It is going to be difficult for Eddie not to see the images or video of the injury as it is everywhere at the moment and will be for so time. The poor guy is set to miss the Euro 2008 which must be a massive disappointment for the lad, but he is youngish and has years on his side.
It sounds as if the operation was a success even though there was a threat of amputation. So at least things are going in the right direction.
I have read this on a few blogs and have to agree 100% that there will be no better site than watching our team lifting up the premier league trophy at the end of the season with Eduardo on crutches joining in the celebrations.
It is amazing to think that Theo Walcott scored a brace and hardly anything has been mentioned in the press about it. It just goes to show how much other crap went on, on Saturday afternoon.
Eboue being suspended for a further 2 matches and Rosicky on deaths door means that the young Englishman can get his chance. His second half performance shouldn’t be forgotten. He must have taken the confidence from the last few minutes of the Ac Milan match when he created the chance for Adebayor to head against the crossbar.
If there has been a time for Theo to step up then it is now. Regular reader Gooner ’79 wrote a nice piece on the YourVision section which includes a bit about Theo, so Check it out
Isn’t it funny, or not. That even after everything that happened to Eduardo all the press can come up with is how bad Arsene is for saying what he said about poor old, lets feel sorry for Martin Taylor who is such a good guy. They are also having the time of their lives chastising William Gallas for venting his frustration.
It is slaughter Arsenal day, today
“It’s idiotic and childish for Wenger to say things like that,” – Former Gunner Seb Larson
it’s legitimate to ask whether William Gallas should be banned from playing for Arsenal again – The Mirror
“It is a terrible thing for Wenger to say, especially about someone like Martin.” – Stephen Kelly (Former Spurs pile of kack)
It is nice to know how much we are loved.
I am so glad that we have a week off now, Arsene will settle the players down and work on our football. Hopefully we will be ready for Villa on Saturday.
ok, well thats about it for today. Enjoy the slightly brighter day, weather wise and injury wise.
Until tomorrow.
