Jack crocked already, Impressive Denilson & Gibbs chance

Denilson has been in fine form and came off the bench to great effect on Sunday. What amazes me is the way he is performing without regular football. He doesn’t appear to need a run of games before he produces on the pitch, he is coming in cold from the bench or starting games here and there and still looking very sharp. Jack’s rise has been rather unfortunate for Denilson as it looks like he has really taken a step forward this season and if given a long run in the side he could really push on and become a key fixture in this side. At the same time, a player can Jack Wilshere cannot be held back. He is producing football at 18 that many world class players were not able to produce. He has been fantastic so far this season and has only tailed off a little in recent games.

I feel as right as rain today, felt awful yesterday and found myself tucked up in bed at 8.30pm, I slept right through until the morning so for once I have a slight spring in my step. It may also have something to do with the Arsenal as well on Sunday as well as Sunderland showing the way forward to others in the league. When you go to Stamford Bridge, be positive and courageous as the red and white stripes were.

Interesting point here, when Chelsea juggled their side in the Carling cup against Newcastle at home they lost and with a few injuries to their first team players they lost and lost badly. The amount of times I have read that Arsenal need a big squad like Chelsea to win trophies has been astonishing but I am not sure if that can be said anymore.

I respect the quality that Chelsea have in their first team. They have a very strong spine. One of the finest spines around. Cech, Terry, Essien and Drogba is physically amazing and they have other first team players on top of their game so I am not belittling them, that would be silly, given the fact that they are the current champions and all but to think that they are superior to us in November 2010 would be doing our squad a massive injustice.

I am hoping that these injuries cause a knock on effect as it has done to us in recent years. Players rushed back because they cannot cope without them and then playing too soon causes another injury. Or the players they have available are not being rotated, therefore injuries happen to them. I am sure they will be at the top end of the table come May and they have proven to be good enough but I feel we are more than capable of overcoming them this time round.

I have just read the news that Jack Wilshere is on his way home as he has picked up an injury. I wouldn’t mind knowing what kind of injury it is or how serious it is. But as far as I know that information has yet to be released. It didn’t take very long did it? I just hope that it is not the start of things to come. What it probably does though is make Arsene’s selection decision a little easier for Saturday. However Jack has said on his twitter account that he hoped to make the game on Saturday so it cannot be that serious. Shame for him but he will get many more chances I am sure.

Jack Wilshere may not be in the England squad this time but Kieran Gibbs will not only be in the squad, he is in line to start at left back. It will be good for his fitness as he has not featured since returning from injury.

I think the same will happen for Van Persie and Walcott. They have both been held back in recent weeks, I am sure Wednesday’s games will have been in Wenger’s mind. Needless to say that all body parts will be firmly crossed that they all return without as much as a scratch on them.

Hopefully they can all do well for their respective countries and hit the ground running when the return to London Colny.

Back tomorrow.
