The new Cesc should partner him in the middle with the old new Cesc playing on the left which isn’t really his position but that basically means he is not thought of as highly as the current central players
Good Afternoon Gooners,
Lateish post today, the missus had me doing early DIY, I have had quite enough of this nesting phase that these creatures like to be in.
It’s all good though, the kids are out tonight on a nice lush Emirates stadium turf. It seems like the media have finally figured out that we have a world class talent on our hands in Wilshere. He was announced to Arsenal fans last season and during pre season but the press hadn’t really spoken very much about him but on Sky sports they had the usual old PE teacher talking about him with the school day photographs.
I actually cannot wait a couple of years to witness Wilshere burst on the scene because it is clear to everyone that he is not just another young promising player. Perhaps before he does burst onto the scene can Wenger take Jack and Theo down to the lab and inject Wilshere with some of that super speed DNA that Theo has in abundance.
I predict that Wilshere will make his England debut at the age of 18. Ok enough hype for now, well of Jack Wilshere. Poor Mark Randall who had an exceptional game against Sheffield United in the last round could well sit out the game though injury which would be gutting. These youngsters look forward to this competition, a chance to play in front of a full stadium and in front of the Sky cameras which is viewed by millions.
I have to say that I am sad for the lad but doubly pleased for Francis Coquelin who I think is another special talent. He would be in the first team squad if he was a couple of years older. High energy, loves a tackle, covers holes in midfield, good passer, technically very good. Do you know of any teams that need that kind of player?
The new Cesc should partner him in the middle with the old new Cesc playing on the left which isn’t really his position but that basically means he is not thought of as highly as the current central players, which is maybe a little unfair on the Spaniard.
Wigan will be interesting opponents and much more of a test than against Sheffield United who are of Championship standard.
They have been very inconsistent of late, they have only won 1 in the last 6 games. So our boys could be playing them at a good time.
Mean Lean Predicted line up
Hoyte Song Djourou Gibbs
Wilshere Ramsey Coquelin Merida
Simpson Vela
I am not going to make a prediction, I just want the lads to enjoy the game and show their skills.
Come on your gunners.
UPDATE: It appears that Randall may be fit for the game.
