Good Afternoon Gooners.
Hope all is well and great? For me, I can’t say it is. Woke up on Monday morning to the news that Arsenal are ready to cash in on Theo Walcott? That can’t be good in all ramifications.
Logging into twitter, I wanted to see the reaction from my fellow Arsenal faithful’s, their reactions was mixed. Some were of the belief that he should be kept but we shouldn’t break the bank to keep him, some were of the belief that we should do whatever it takes to keep him and the others were like he should be sold, he hasn’t lived up to earlier expectations.
I’m of the belief that he should be kept by all means. RvP looks to be on his way out, we can’t lose Theo in the same summer. That doesn’t spell INTENT!!! In the past 12 months we have lost Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy for one reason or the other. In all honesty this isn’t healthy.

Comparing Theo with other players, you would see he can slug it out with the best. Here is the stats of last season;
Theo Walcott: 8 goals 11 assists
Juan Mata: 6 goals 13 assists
David Silva: 6 goals 18 assists
Gareth Bale: 9 goals 10 assists
Antonio Valencia: 4 goals 13 assists
Ashley Young: 6 goals 7 assists
Samir Nasri: 5goals 9 assists
In the goals department; only Gareth Bale has scored more, while in assists, he trumps Bale, Young and Nasri. That isn’t bad for a player who a lot would say doesn’t have a football brain.
Last Season Assists table in all competition at Arsenal had Theo on top along with Song with 11 assists. RvP finished with 9 while Gervinho finished with 7.
We can’t sit down and write those stats off as rubbish and say we wouldn’t feel his departure. We would, so therefore we must keep him.
Theo is a big game player, I have seen him churn out man of the match performances against Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona. More will definitely follow if he stays reason we have no business letting him slip through our grasp
Theo’s pace is electric and the way we are built to play, his pace comes in handy on and off the ball. He is a vital component in our team and we shouldn’t be losing him.
Theo Walcott is 23 years old, he has got good years ahead of him. It would be very stupid losing him at this stage of his career and also very stupid strengthening a rival.
Messi had this to say about Theo in 2010;
“I can only speak from experience but he was one of the most dangerous players I have ever played
against.
Even at the top level, pace scares the world’s best defenders. And, take it from me, he would scare any defender.”
Coming from the world’s best player, I’d listen to him everyday of the week. Theo’s pace, goals and assist are things we could use to get to where we want to be.
Like I said a while back on twitter, I could stand losing RvP but not Theo. Wenger I’m sure feels the same way. I’m hoping we keep him…. We have to keep him…. It’s a must we keep him.
