Midfielders set to sign / We must stop poachers

The fear is any good performances from the likes of Cesc, Van Persie, Walcott, Vela etc will attract the same ol same ol to come sniffing around next summer offering the world

As from now I really think the transfer merry go round will start very quickly. The Euro’s have finished and clubs and managers will want to sort our their business before the pre season matches. Chelsea have picked up Deco for around £8 million, a bargain basement price for Chelsea. I can envisage a lot of changes being made to the Chelsea side with Big Phil (not our version) in charge. Sorry, I am talking about other clubs before I speak about our own.

The Nasri deal should be sorted out in the next few days as far as I am aware. I believe that Nasri will not be the only player unveiled at the press conference. Arsene would have been working behind the scenes since the end of last season and it will be interesting to see which player(s) have slipped through the media’s beady eyes.

It is great to hear that Cesc wants to transfer his new trophy winning habit to Arsenal.

Now, next year, I want to win trophies with Arsenal, this is my target,” said Fabregas

“I finally made something at a young age, I never expected it to be with Spain. Now I want to do it with Arsenal.”

ok, I am a day late with the news so I apologies to all but I couldn’t get on until late and when I did get on the new there was pretty much sod all to talk about apart from the same Adebayor to Barca crap that I cannot be bothered to think about let alone write about.

Basically I see it as a positive thing either way (never one for sitting on the fence is me) We can bring someone in who has the strengths that Adebayor hasn’t. Finishing, team play etc If Adebayor does stay (which looks increasingly unlikely) then Wenger can develop the big man strong points.

So it looks like we are set to sign our second (or third depending on how you look at it) signing of the season.

Amaury Bischoff has turned down a new contract at Werder Bremen which paves the way for the 21 year old to join Arsenal.

“Bremen was superb, but Arsenal is a huge opportunity for me,” Bischoff told Bild.

“Wenger has known me since my time at Strasbourg and believes in my quality. He trusts me to be in the first team.

“Wenger has not put me under any pressure. He said, ‘Take all the time you need’.”

Like most, I know sod all about him and he is likely to start off in the reserves and if he can become quality then good luck to him. Arsene has obviously seen something that he likes. A lot of fans seem a bit upset by this potential signing. ‘Why is Wenger buying reserve German league players, we should be buying player x or player y’

I know what you mean! Next thing we know Wenger is going to pick up a reserve french midfielder with no experience from Italy! tut tut *shake of the head*

Wenger has spoken about being patient while he develops his squad.

Wenger said:

“In life you need to be patient to get to the very top. Don’t forget some players don’t start to win until they’re 28 or 29 and we’ve many players under 25.”

Oh I agree.. but.. it is difficult to be patient with a squad that cannot stay together. At the moment we have only lost one player from last season’s first team (Jens doesn’t count) but if we lose three then it would not look good.

Something will have to be done after this summers round of rumours and following from some of Europe’s big clubs. Make no mistake this is going to continue unless something is done. Whether it is a restructure of the wages or a change in stance about players who want to leave.

The fear is any good performances from the likes of Cesc, Van Persie, Walcott, Vela etc will attract the same ol same ol to come sniffing around next summer offering the world.

According to former defender Pascal Cygan, Arsenal are after European Championship winner Marcos Senna.

“I have heard that Arsenal are interested in him,” Cygan told RMC radio station. “That proves how good he is, as they rarely make mistakes.

“Senna is Villarreal’s best player, he is sharp, starts all the plays, and is more technically gifted that most players at his position.

I cannot see it to be honest, not someone that age. Wenger will want to work with players so he can improve them and so that they can develop as the team does. Good player though.

Squid Boy has written a very good piece about Theo Walcott and his new shirt number, so have a read. I think Theo will be a massive plus for us next season.

Have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.

Until tomorrow.
