Arsenal and Barca on top of their games would be just total football. No bus parking, no time wasting, no route one crap just sexy gorgeous triangles. Many people look at triangles and think very little about them.
Good afternoon Gooners,
Nice to see you again, I saw the headlines on Sky Sports News after the game about Manchester United’s double blow and I got all excited. ‘Ronaldo & Rooney out for 4 weeks!, or Ferdinand and Vidic out for season’ Or any two of that combination please! Not to be.
The yellow scrolling ticker continued to reveal Gary Neville and John bloody O’Shea! Who cares? How is that going to help us? Why can’t it be us with the luck for a change *insert rhetorical question mark*
We haven’t even got Andrey the little giant to terrorise Neville’s deputy, not fair, just not fair.
Just gonna add something very random here, bare with me a moment, its just popped into my head and I have write it down. I believe in positive thinking (as some may have already guessed) I also believe that the mind is a very powerful tool that we do not completely understand. I wonder if all the Arsenal fans at the ground against Manchester United first leg felt really positive, confident and believed we would win the game, how much it would transmit to the players. I wonder how much stuff like that actually subconsciously affects football matches and football players.
Moving on..
We have to show the same intensity and fight that Liverpool showed against us whenever they get the ball. We have to hunt in packs and give every last drip of sweat to the cause.
This is practically our season at this moment in time. Lose these two legs and our season is over for another year, win and we are in one game from lifting…… oh that gave me the shivers.
I watched a little bit of Barcelona vs Sevilla last night. The team who we defeat in the final *positive thinking remember* ripped Seville apart 4-0. I tell you what, they are an attractive little side aren’t they? I was saying to a mate the other day that I would rather play Barca in the semi and then again in the final instead of playing Chelsea or Manchester United.
Arsenal and Barca on top of their games would be just total football. No bus parking, no time wasting, no route one crap just sexy gorgeous triangles. Many people look at triangles and think very little about them. Triangles would look so much nicer after an Arsenal Barca game without any bloody goalkeepers being sent off.
Thierry Henry has fought against the Arsenal curse and is quickly lifting it from his head. He scored again last night and has adapted to his old position on the left wing. I still have so much respect for him so I am glad he is doing well. The same cannot be said for Ian Wright who I worshiped as many Gooners my age did, some may even still do but I cannot stand listening to his voice any longer. If different words came out of his mouth regarding our club then I would love his voice but its not to be.
Congratulations to the young younger guns ripping Manchester City a new one 4-1 and getting to the final of the Youth Cup, great stuff. I was searching high and low for the game but I could not find it anywhere. Not even on Arsenal TV, what happened to the live coverage they used to show on line. It said something like Arsenal Online no longer shows Arsenal TV in the UK or Ireland. Why on earth not? Isn’t the channel from England? Any how Setanta, Arsenal TV and all the rest of the sports channels didn’t have it on so I cannot talk about the game, in fact I haven’t even seen the goals as yet. Anyway, got stuff kids, you keep developing and starting a winning habit would put you in good Jon Stead for the future.
Mathieu Flamini has been getting all sentimental and stuff about Arsenal, you can listen to it HERE
Here are a few quotes from the former Arsenal midfielder.
“Arsenal are in my heart and they will be in my heart for ever,” Flamini tells BBC Sport. “I will always be an Arsenal fan and leaving was not easy.
“I miss my team-mates. I’m very happy at Milan but after four years at Arsenal we had very strong partnerships and it’s normal to miss your team-mates.
Right now I can’t say if I would go back and play in England again because I’m here and I’m enjoying every day of my life – I’m having so much fun playing for this team but we’ll see, you never know
“Thankfully I’m still in contact with them all because they’re still very important to me. I was very close to Cesc, Tomas Rosicky and the African and French guys.
“Everyone could see on the pitch that me and Cesc were very close and, off the pitch, we still are.”
Don’t start crying about it all now Monsieur Flamini. You opted for cash ahead of friendship. The way Alex Song is progressing I would say that he will be head and shoulders (quite literally) above Flamini by the time he reaches 24-25 years old.
That interview kind of reminds me of that Rhianna song, ‘Take a bow’ about a guy crying and sorry because he got caught,
Underneath all my anger directed at Flamini I am still hurt by his departure, his fight and commitment was fantastic for us last season. The close friendships mean so much in a football team and that cannot be bought so that is a shame. I would go as far as to say he was my player of the year last season.
Interesting last comments by Flamini.
“For me, I left on good terms,” says Flamini. “I don’t want to comment on what Arsene said – he had to say something to the fans and I don’t want to say any more.
Perhaps Arsene knew of his departure much earlier than we think. *flicking the tear away from my eye* never mind we are in the future now.
Andrey Arshavin continues to write himself into the book of Arsenal legends, he was talking about being left out of the semi final against Chelsea.
Arshavin said:
“Arsenal have more than 11 good players, so I don’t need to have a discussion over whatever the coach decides for a specific game,” he told Sport Express.
“There are no feelings of resentment at all. Of course, I’d like to play all the time, but if I’m left on the bench, I just make sure I’m ready to come on and then ready for the next game.”
Now that is attitude for you, not only is he a quality match winning player but he seems a great character.
He was also speaking about his fourth goal when he scored from Walcott’s pass.
Arshy said:
“Nobody from our team can outpace Walcott, Usually, neither his team-mates nor his opponents can keep up with him. I don’t know how I did it.”
Those little legs of his certainly do move across the pitch at speed. I am looking forward to an Arshavin post pre season with a fit squad around him including Rosicky and Gallas. Awesome stuff.
Enough reading this, go and enjoy the sunshine (unless you are reading from somewhere cold that is)
