Arsenal are not prepared to take it on the chin and are asking UEFA outside for a scrap. Either that or they are considering an appeal depending on UEFA’s explanation

A chuffing good afternoon to all you Gooners out there. Before you ask, I don’t know what chuffing means, my uncle says it so its gotta mean something good.

In all honesty, I am bored to death of this Eduardo diving nonsense. The same arguments are going around and around until there are circular Eduardo diving scratches all over the floor and I’m fed up of looking at it.

But as I am writing a blog I guess I have a gun to my head forcing me to bring it back up again, ok perhaps not but it would be unfair not to join the hundreds of blogs out there repeating the same old news *puzzled look*

Arsenal are not prepared to take it on the chin and are asking UEFA outside for a scrap. Either that or they are considering an appeal depending on UEFA’s explanation

“We have been informed that we will receive a ‘reasoned decision’ from Uefa by Thursday of this week. Once we receive Uefa’s rationale, we will make a decision on the next steps.”

“We believe it is imperative that Uefa’s explanation for its decision provides clear and comprehensive standards that will be consistently enforced,”

“It is also critical that Uefa provides specific details of the processes it plans to adopt in reviewing all games under its jurisdiction.”

It will be interesting to find out how UEFA are going to try and disguise this one, especially when it becomes evident that a well ‘respected’ players does the exact same thing for one of the major European clubs.

So should Messi or Ronaldo dive before a European final after the incident being unpunished from the referee, they are going to ban him for such a spectacle? I very much doubt that. So good luck with that one UEFA, let me know how you get on.

Eduardo himself is obviously not very happy about it but the bottom line is that two group games is nothing to worry about for the squad especially as he is not currently the managers first choice right now, well not until Wenger feels his injury is 100% behind him at least so we should be able to cope. By that point we should have the likes of Carlos Vela and Theo Walcott back to choose from.

England Under 21s coach Stuart Pearce has been talking common sense about Jack Wilshere. I know you think Pearce and common sense in the same sentence is funny but listen, its true.

Pearce has been talking about our young talent Jack Wilshere and how he needs to be protected. Pearce said:

“I’ll make sure I protect him as much as I can, He’ll come through in his own good time. There is no point in me lauding him up and talking about senior football at the moment.

“The first port of call is getting in your club side. He is at a very good club side. On top of that he needs to get in the Under-21 side and perform there. From there, who knows? One player gets singled out of my squad, normally a very young one,”

“It was Theo, Theo, Theo all the time. What we said then was ‘give Theo time to mature’. [Wilshere’s] got to try to win a place in this Under-21 team at the moment – and he’s got to try to win a place in Arsenal’s team at the moment.

“That will happen in time, there is no doubt about that because the boy has some fantastic talent.”

It actually is amazing how taking a player out of the spotlight really makes a difference. After the Emirates cup the hype was back up tenfold you had many saying that ne needs to be a regular starter now, Cesc did it so why can’t Jack, a few weeks later after being held back the same people are no longer including him in their jotted down line ups on wrinkled bits of paper.

I do expect the lad to start getting some Premier League games in the near future. He will come into the Carling Cup and it is quite exciting because he should have a more central position with the new formation that is likely to be used in the teams underneath the first team.

Wilshere is currently only being used when the game is safe, I suspect that is to take the pressure of his shoulders, hence his introduction against Celtic at 4-1 up with 18 minutes to go. The Carling cup will be his stage lets hope the boys can go far.

The likes of Merida, Gibbs, Ramsey and Emmanuel-Thomas are all desperate for Wenger to see what they can do. The level of the kids has improved from last season. All players have more experience are that year older and it should be an exciting season for the kids.

Those lot from West London have been pretty naughty haven’t they? haha oh dear no more transfers until 2011 which I bet will be reduced or even wiped out following a slipped cheque (allegedly)

It will be interesting to see how a team full of thirty year olds cope without any additions over 18 months, that should be fun to watch, I hope they pick up a tasty collection of injuries just before the January window to add insult to injury.

I would mention Rooney’s comments about diving but like I said earlier, I am fed up talking about it so I shall give it a miss.

Right pre match thoughts about our game tomorrow… erm, yeah perhaps not. Enjoy your football-less weekend. Unless you count Internationals as football.

Back tomorrow.
