Nasri came off the bench and made a big impact against Ecuador. He changed the game and was heavily involved in the game. If he can continue doing this then he will force his way into the French starting line up
Appologies for the lack of content yesterday, I planned to write something in the morning but time flew away from me and we ended up going to Paradise wildlife park for my sons 1st birthday. I am feeling old these days, I came back shattered.
To make matter worse I forced myself to stay awake and watch that load of crap called England against Trinidad and Tobago. Why did I do that? I do not learn my lesson, I expect something to change and I think that I will witness a highly technical, exciting match.
Theo managed to get about 15 minutes at the end but hardly touched the ball. He did get a chance when through on goal but his finish was not good enough. Apart from that he didn’t do much else really.
The rest of the game was just PANTS.
There has been some more developments in the Nasri saga, and yep it is not the best of news. Arsene Wenger was speaking to French television and said.
“Nasri, he interests me,”
“I hope I will do it after the Euros.
“It is more complicated now because the wage differences [between the French and the English league] are not as big as they used to be.
“It is very difficult [to transfer players from the French league] but England is considered one of the two top leagues and the best players want to play against the best players.”
So from that it is fair to assume that Arsenal have agreed a price with Marseille and he has had his medical at Arsenal and everything was looking hunky dorey. Arsenal offered him a wage and his agent snatched the paper from him and wrote down several zero’s on the end of the figure with an orange crayon (allegedly)
I didn’t really like to end of Wenger’s comment.
“..but England is considered one of the two top leagues and the best players want to play against the best players” = If you want to play top football then you should just be happy with the amount we have offered you.
Nasri came off the bench and made a big impact against Ecuador. He changed the game and was heavily involved in the game. If he can continue doing this then he will force his way into the French starting line up and become a key player for them over this European Championships if he does this and has a good tournament then his value will increase, there is little doubt about this. Mr 20% knows this full well, and wanted any deal to be done afterwards but we as Gooners know that Arsenal will not be willing to please any agents.
Would I be surprised if the deal fell through and he ended up holding a Chelsea shirt standing next to Peter Kenyon? Nope, not one bit. Horrible isn’t it? But it could well happen.
I just cannot see how the deal will go through after the Euro’s if it hasn’t already. Maybe I am just being skecptical and it is just a case of sorting out the finer details. Who knows, I guess it is just a case of wait and see.
I think we need some better news, that thought is not what you need on a Monday morning. Arsene Wenger has denied any plans to go to PSG.
“No, I am not going to PSG,” Wenger told RMC.
“[PSG major shareholder] Sebastien Bazin came to see me once he had made up his mind.
“[President] Charles Villeneuve is my friend, I can advise him, but he is free to do whatever he wants to.
“PSG are not to become Arsenal’s subsidiary, it would be an insult for such a great club with a strong potential.
“That is a shame because they are the only football club in the world to be in a city of 10 million people, they do not have any competitors and I regret that they do not use their potential.”
When that day comes and Arsene does either seek pastures new or hangs up his boots err.. brain. Then how are the board going to replace him? There is not really what you call a like for like is there? And we have to continue going down the same route as what we have been doing otherwise his work over the last few years would have been a complete waste. What I mean by that is getting someone like Jose Mourinho in would be a disaster. He would sell our talented players and bring in a squad full of workmen like players and our who style would change all the way down the ladder. So we would have to find someone who can work with young players and develop them as Arsene does and is good enough at that level to manage a title chasing team. Very difficult job, I just hope Arsene will be there to help find his replacement. It could be one of his most important tasks in all his time at the club.
Happy Monday to you all, Drop your view in the comments.
Same again tomorrow.
