Sami Nasri is one of the most talented players in his generation, his first season at a new club, country and league was very impressive considering the amount of change that he made especially at a tender age
Good afternoon once again,
I hope you are in good spirits today and the weather and round of Internationals won’t send you into depression. One or the other is bad enough but both combined isn’t fun.
Today as you know is the last round of games before our players pack their suitcases and fly back to London, I just hope that none of our players are hobbling or limping onto the plane.
One player who probably has had his fair share of limping this season is Samir Nasri, he has been speaking about his fitness and on when he expects to find his way into the squad.
Nasri said:
“I’m due to rejoin the Arsenal team this weekend, or at the start of next week, I think I will be back in action against West Ham on the 25th.
“The new style of play suits us. Cesc Fabregas has a bit more freedom in midfield, and the rest of us link up well with him.”
Sami Nasri is one of the most talented players in his generation, his first season at a new club, country and league was very impressive considering the amount of change that he made especially at a tender age. The first time that I remember Nasri playing through the middle was last season against Sunderland away. He was on the bench from the start and funnily enough we started the game playing 4-3-3 for the first time that season. We lacked any sort of urgency and tempo until Nasri came on in an attacking central role and he made a difference.
During the spell in the middle of the season, when we had the likes of Cesc, Walcott and Rosicky all out at the same time. Nasri was drafted into a central position when we chased the game and he continued to sparkle.
This is a subject that I have spoken about many a time, so I won’t drone on about it anymore than I need to but I will say that potentially we could well have the best attacking central midfield in world football. I include a certain Barcelona in that. Right now, they have won trophies and produced consistent good football but when you look at how good the likes of Cesc (22), Nasri (22) and Song (22) are already, it makes you wonder what they will be like at their peak. This is not even including quality like Denilson (21), Ramsey (18), Merida (19), Wilshere (17) who will be around the first team when they are ready.
Samir Nasri will add versatility to our midfield and attack. He would be equally at home on the right and left of the attack as he would in the center of midfield.
Continuing with the midfield theme, Cesc Fabregas has spoken of his joy to have friend and excellent team mate Tomas Rosicky back playing again.
Cesc said:
“Tomas Rosicky is probably one of the best friends I have, and he’s been injured for nearly two years, It’s great to have him back and I’m really happy for him. I have learned a lot from him as well – to be strong and keep believing. He believed in himself, that he could play football and it is great to see him play.
“I was with him every day, I went to his house – it’s like that. And I think team mates, we have to be like that as well. It was nice when they were coming to me [when I was injured]; it’s nice now that I go to them.
“The important thing is you don’t do it because you have to; you do it because you really want to do it. And I think that [at] Arsenal, there’s this feeling with everyone. It’s really good.”
Not only do we have the class of Rosicky on the pitch but we also have someone who brings positivity to the players around him. I still think we have not as yet seen the best of Rosicky. He simply hasn’t had enough games on the bounce to show his best form. If we keep a fit Rosicky for most of this season then he will most likely contribute to a decent number of points.
I don’t think I can finish this blog without saying what I have said so many times. It is almost like an addiction, I need my fix from time to time and I have had enough of shaking in the corner, pouring with sweat.
…….The Nasri, Cesc, Rosicky, Arshavin and Van Persie combination will be utterly amazing!!..
There we go, I feel so much better now, hopefully I can go a few more days without saying it again.
On a serious note, is there a team in world football who could deal with that at full pelt? I hope that group take to the pitch against the Chelsea pensioners on the 29th November 2009 at the Emirates. Teach John Terry and Ashley Cole a footballing lesson.
Hopefully William Gallas does not feature for France tonight as he was on the receiving end of two broken teeth in their last match on Saturday. Poor guy.
Lets all wish for good health after tonight then we can look forward to the Birmingham game from now until Saturday.
Enjoy your day, back tomorrow.
