I love Rosicky as a player, a selfless player who improves those around him. A player who will give you the ball at the right time and always show for it if you want to give it back. What I had almost forgot about was his drives forward. Poor Tiote was turned in knots as he attempted to get close to the Czech wizard but a shift of the hips and then a spin in the other

Karma is a bitch not to be messed with. As Wenger Boy pointed out on a rather joyful twitter last night, it was Krul’s time wasting and Jordan Henderson’s smash into Arteta that allowed Arsenal enough injury time to fire in Arsenal’s winners.
Four games in a row that we have had to overturn a deficit which is a Premier League record just proves the point that Arsenal like it doggy style. Coming from behind is the new one nil to the Arsenal.
Pre match I was a wreck with nerves, more than usual which made me think that it wouldn’t be our day as the time ticked past the 90 minutes. With what would be our last attack, we strung together a perfect move on the break. Song’s pass into van Persie was great and I love the way Song continued his run took it off the feet of van Persie and strode forward, many would have let the captain make his own decision but Song made it for him.
A few weeks ago, if you had asked supporters who you would choose to make the final ball with the last chance of the game, few would have opted for Theo Walcott but we had gambled, especially Thomas Vermaelen who powered into the box from his center back position. It doesn’t really matter who Theo’s final ball was meant for, we had numbers in the box and if you could choose a player in the squad to go into a 50/50 with the keeper then it would be the vice captain who bundled the ball over the line from close range. Amazing.
Theo Walcott was too hot to handle last night. When your opponent has to be replaced at half time then you know you are doing a good job. It was Walcott’s flashing cross in the first minute that could have presented us with the opener but van Persie’s outstretched foot couldn’t quite connect.
Ben Arfa, an unknown quantity according to the wealth of footballing knowledge that is Alan Shearer, scored a good goal, cutting inside Kieran Gibbs and striking a low left footed shot inside of Szczesny’s post.
While Alan Pardew was still waving his pad of paper and punching the air, Arsenal went down the other end in a matter of seconds and it was the two best players on the pitch that set up the man who scores when he wants. Tomas Rosicky’s part in the goal has been somewhat downplayed as far as I am concerned. Maybe I just love him too much.
His perfectly weighted pass in between a pack of black and white stripes allowed Walcott to scamper off down the right and his low cross found the feet of van Persie. We almost do not blink at what happened next because it has become the norm but lets get one thing straight here. There are not many players who can take that Theo cross in his stride, beat his man, set himself up and then fire past the keeper in one slick breathtaking move. 1-1.
It looks as if many deadwood document files will have been updated by now as Tomas Rosicky continues to run football matches. I heard he makes a mean humble pie also.
The playmaker said that the secret of his success is having a run in the team, something he has not been able to do since his return from injury. He came as a central playmaker but had to play wide and while Cesc was around, then came along his injury problems. I have always thought writing Rosicky off without being given the chance to prove himself was a bit harsh, he is proving that he has all of his old powers.
I love Rosicky as a player, a selfless player who improves those around him. A player who will give you the ball at the right time and always show for it if you want to give it back. What I had almost forgot about was his drives forward. Poor Tiote was turned in knots as he attempted to get close to the Czech wizard but a shift of the hips and then a spin in the other direction kept leaving him and his team mates for dead.
He should have scored his third Ashburton Grove goal in a row but he sliced Theo Walcott’s excellent set up after leaving his man on his backside.
Rosicky’s energy was amazing and the way he closed down and put his foot in was a credit to him. He helps win the ball back high up the pitch because he does not give up and it spreads to his team mates. It was little surprise that he was replaced by Ramsey. Rosicky is not the spring chicken that he used to be and has played a lot of games in a short space of time as well as clocking up plenty of miles last night.
I loved Rosicky’s celebration of the final goal from the bench, unzipping his coat, dropping it to the floor and running screaming his head off. That is how all of us felt Tomas and it was great to see.
I actually thought Ramsey looked refreshed and sharper in his short time on the pitch. Bacary Sagna was immense at right back. It is no coincidence that Walcott’s game has picked up since his return. Walcott no longer has to continuously protect an out of position Johan Djourou, he now has the best right back defensively in the league sitting behind him.
Mikel Arteta, Kieran Gibbs, Laurent Koscielny and a few others also had very good games. It was another team performance and it was the team that pushed us on to get the winner.
I loved van Persie’s mocking of Krul at the end. It might not have been sensible, it might not have been what you should do as a captain but it was real. It was passion and you could see it in his face when Howard ‘ignore Newcastle kicking and time wasting’ Webb was talking to him.
That is what I want from Arsenal players, sticking up for the club, protecting that badge when needed. It gave me goose bumps to see him so pumped and the Arsenal faithful singing his name. A beautiful moment.
A bit of hard fight, never say die attitude, good football and confidence has been our cement and that has covered that gap nicely. One point off third place, tough trip to look forward to at Everton. Blimey that will be tough but if anyone can go there and win right now then it is us.
