I have a pretty good feeling about the game on the whole though. Manchester United are not in the best of form right now and I just feel that playing at Old Trafford will actually help motivate
I have tried to run, I have attempted to hide but I have been cornered and caught by the sickness bug. It really isn’t fun whatsoever. Ah well at least news of Cesc in talks with us to sign a new deal is a very good attempt of a remedy.
“Cesc said: I have six years remaining and I am talking with my club, who are interested in renegotiating it.
“I want to succeed at Arsenal, and that the club wants me is fundamental for me.”
He only signed a contract a few months ago so it is a strange one but if it means that we can make him forget about Barcelona then its all good. Having said that I do not think that contracts mean all that much to be honest. It gives a player a pay rise so they are happy for the short term but if Arsene was to leave the day after he signed a new deal, it wouldn’t stop him leaving the club.
Cesc is likely to be the highest paid player in the squad after his deal I would imagine.
Arsene was speaking to Arsenal TV online and he indicated that both Clichy and Sagna could miss the clash against United. Sagna is out for personal reasons but I expected him to be rested anyway. If Clichy is out then that could be a little bit of a problem because youngster Armand Traore is his replacement. Traore defensively is way short of the first team right now and against someone like Ronaldo (should he start) would be a very frightening prospect.
I have a pretty good feeling about the game on the whole though. Manchester United are not in the best of form right now and I just feel that playing at Old Trafford will actually help motivate our team without the pressure of our fans. We will go there and play our game, we will have a good amount of the ball. Ferguson has been afraid of trying to match us possession wise in the last few meetings. He will play on the counter attack against us as he did at the Emirates earlier on this season.
If we are sharp in the final third and we can create chances then we will snatch a win. In a way I feel that this game isn’t of major importance though. Don’t get me wrong a victory against Manchester United is nothing to be sniffed at but I feel that I am thinking more like the boss and see this trophy as 3rd down the list of priorities. If this was against Aston Villa at Villa Park and we went out then I don’t think we would be so upset but because it is against United alot of our fans want us to play a full strength side. If the Milan game was on the Saturday afterwards then I think Arsene would play our strongest available side.
If we win the game then I can see Eduardo being the player to put United to the sword. He has the coolness and calmness to finish a chance at Old Trafford.
ok, well I have to stop now, I need some tablets and some rest. Enjoy your Friday.
Until tomorrow.
