What a absolute idiot. He sounds like he is Maradona in his prime and Arsenal should have been grateful to have him in their squad. Pardon me for thinking….
Another good morning to you,
Our old captain Patrick Vieira has been speaking to the press about his favourite subject, Arsenal football club. What is it about old players that cannot help themselves taking about us, whether it be positive or negative press.
He has come to his French teammates rescue by jumping infront of the Gallas criticism from mainly the English media.
He is a really emotional person sometimes. He expresses his feelings and that is why he is so popular on the French national team.
“I hope he stays as captain. I think he is a leader of the team. He has experience. I think he has the full support of the players.
Experience he certainly has but I am not quite sure if he is a leader on the pitch. He is a player who wants to die for the cause and hates losing that is always a very important thing to have in a side, especially a side that is so young all over the pitch but I don’t think he is the type to organise and fill you with confidence when it is needed. Obviously from a fans perspective it is quite hard to tell because you are not there in the dressing room, in the training ground etc.
I think it must be somewhat of a problem with our manager because if he had 100% faith in Gallas as a captain then he would have come out and stated that ‘Gallas is our captain and he will be next season because he is good at what he does’ type of statement. But instead Wenger has said that he has not had time to look into that right now which suggests that he wants to give the armband to someone else.
Vieira is worried about what effect this will have on Gallas.
“It would have a bad effect on him (if he lost the captaincy) and everybody else in the team as well. If you had the captaincy taken off you after a year it would be difficult psychologically to start the next season not as captain.
At the end of the day it is about the benefit of the team and not William Gallas. He needs to be strong enough and professional enough to accept any decision that Arsene gives. But I have a nagging feeling that if Gallas does not continue with the role then he will throw a wobbly.
Another rumour thrown on the rumour table, which is now spilling over onto the floor, is the Argentinean playmaker who is at Loan at Birmingham City. Mauro Zarate is a player full of self confidence and ball control. He is 21 years old and plays for Al-Sadd of Qatar. They want around £20 million for him but apparently £10 million would be enough to capture him. I don’t quite know why I wrote all that because I don’t see this one happening. Although young Zarate looks like a player who plays for himself and himself only.
I haven’t used one of my tabloid headlines for a while, so here goes.
KEEGAN SNUBS WENGER OVER OBA
That was rubbish, I can’t think of something clever. Still need practice for my dream job at the Sun (yep, that was sarcasm)
The Obafemi Martins have once again resurfaced, with Keegan telling every man and his dog that he not for sale. I don’t personally think that Arsene is actually interested in Martins. I reckon he might have been after the 3-0 defeat to Inter Milan at Highbury a few years back after Martins destroyed Toure for pace on more than one occasion but I think he feels rather content with his forward selection and I think I would have to agree with him. What is more likely is Wenger buying a wide player who can play upfront.
Kevin Keegan said:
“I haven’t heard anything from Arsenal but I want to keep all my players and add to them if I can,” said Keegan
Lassana Diarra has laid into Arsene Wenger about his ‘treatment’ at Arsenal.
He said: “I left Arsenal because I wanted more consideration and wanted to just play every week.
“When you are are in the team – and even if you play well – the manager doesn’t put you on the pitch (in the next game). So you have to do something.
What a absolute idiot. He sounds like he is Maradona in his prime and Arsenal should have been grateful to have him in their squad. Pardon me for thinking this but I just assumed that players who have just joined a big club should have to fight their way into the starting 11 and when a side is top of the league on merit then it makes it a little harder and patience is required. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVEN’T EVEN BEEN THERE FOR ONE SEASON!!!!
Am I being unreasonable?
There a few things that get on my nerves about the whole Diarra situation. 1) He had the potential to be a MASSIVE player for us. 2) We didn’t get to see Cesc and Diarra together in the middle which would have been the best partnership in world football in a couple seasons. 3) We had two fantastic holding players at the start of the season now none of them are at the club. 4) Diarra’s head shape is annoying.
Right, I am going to go and watch Newsnow and refresh every 30 seconds in the hope that we make a signing. Only joking of course.. sort of.
Have a good day. Drop your view in the comments.
Until tomorrow.
