Phil Brown needs a good shock / Nasri, Gibbs & Chelsea

Hull City’s approach to the game was truly disgusting. It looked very much influenced by a certain Blackburn manager. How can a team come to the Emirates earlier in the season and leave with a deserved 3 points

Good evening, the usual late post after daytime match review.

I have a few points about the goings on yesterday. Firstly I want to say that we didn’t start the game like we have been doing recently. We came out of the blocks very slowly, not much tempo and not a great deal of urgency. I am hoping that this is due to the physical demands of recent weeks or maybe the changes in the team causing our play to be disjointed. Anything as long as it is not a mental thing. I hope and pray that it is not a case of the players expecting to win. We have seen enough of that earlier in the season and we know where that got us. Thankfully the team showed great strength and character to turn that around in the second half, everything was much improved. Attitude, desire, passion and tempo. We got our reward in the end.

Samir Nasri is wasted out wide. He can do a good job on the left wing but he gives the team far more through the middle. I personally thoughts his impact was massive when he came on. From what I have read this hasn’t been mentioned as much as I thought it would have.

Gibbs is a fantastic prospect. He looks very assured, doesn’t panic, knows how to play a pass and has the best delivery out of all of our defenders. If he keeps improving then he will certainly be knocking very loudly on Gael Clichy’s door. Clichy is much more dynamic than his understudy and is the master of intercepting so even though he is not currently at his best he will not be replaced just yet.

Hull City’s approach to the game was truly disgusting. It looked very much influenced by a certain Blackburn manager. How can a team come to the Emirates earlier in the season and leave with a deserved 3 points then come back with those intentions. Why are you time wasting so early in a game? Why are you cynically fouling players? It is horrible to witness. For the good of the game, this Arsenal team have to come and blow them out of the water early. It is somewhat harder to do that on the pitch but the more they get results or even look like getting results the more idiots like Phil Brown and Sam Allardyce will continue this disgraceful trend.

The whole spitting saga and Phil Brown’s comments do not interest me a great deal I must say, I am only writing about it because it is difficult to avoid. I enjoy watching, playing, talking, writing football not spitting or allegations. Unless they are the usual ones I read in the paper about myself ‘Mean Lean kept me going all night claims Cheryl Cole’ *If my partner is reading this, certain comments are only for the benefit of the readers ahem*

Does anyone get the impression that Phil Brown is a self indulged, egotistical, arrogant cock who seems to think very highly of himself? That time when he got the Hull City players on the pitch at half time didn’t seem genuine to me, especially when he explained his actions in front of the cameras afterwards. He has entered my top 10 current hated figures in the game at present. I may just think of that order at a later date.

It would be nice if someone plugged his stupid headset into a plug socket and electrocuted that so called brain he has.

I hope we do not see Phil Brown grace the Premiership after this season is over with. Justice would only be done if West Brom stayed up and teams like Blackburn and Hull Shity got relegated into the Championship.

Anyway I cannot bring myself to talk about them any longer.

The victory last night has set up a lovely little semi final against Chelsea, a game which can go either way but a game where I trust we will see the best of our team. As I said in the match report I think the FA Cup is last on Arsene’s priorities behind getting a Champions League place and staying in the top 4 but I think Wenger will send his strongest available team out at Wembley. It will be a big occasion for the boys, especially as it is against one of our rivals. Hopefully the likes of Fabregas, Adebayor and Eduardo will also be involved in that one.

Before I go I would like to say belated birthdays to Theo Walcott and Pat Rice.

Back normal time tomorrow (1pm)
