How can someone who is doing everything the ‘correct’ way be attacked like that. Arsene gets his teams to play the correct way, fairly without spending money that isn’t his
Good afternoon to you,
Late post due to a hectic morning this morning. Carling Cup tonight, but before I talk about that I just wanted to ask..
What on earth is Platini’s problem with Wenger?!
I was reading his comments on my mobile internet on the way to work and wondered what exactly had happened to make him dislike our manager so much. I already had my doubts about the penalty decision at home to Liverpool in the Champions League and this outbreak is making my doubts even stronger.
“I talk football, he talks business.
“It would make me happy that Arsene Wenger never sees it (video technology).”
“It is what people like Wenger do not want – little clubs beating the big clubs – because they want their business.”
How can someone who is doing everything the ‘correct’ way be attacked like that. Arsene gets his teams to play the correct way, fairly without spending money that isn’t his.
Then the next minute you have muppets like Platini compaining that Manchester United and Chelsea are in the Champions league final due to unfair means. Make your mind up you pratt!
Arsene was unstandably stocked by this outburst and had something to say on it.
“I am stunned by the aggressive content of Platini’s words,” he told L’Equipe.
“I am effectively a supporter of video assistance for referees, like all coaches, and I believe Uefa have an important role to play in this.
“I am for sporting justice and Uefa must be the guarantor of it.”
Wenger added: “I am a supporter of good management of clubs, for financial equilibrium and Uefa must equally support this idea.
“I am fighting for the future of the game and of football.
“I don’t see why Uefa should take umbrage at ideas that are different from theirs.”
Arsene has been talking up the players ahead of tonights clash with the Yorkshire lot from Sheffield.
When it came to Aaron Ramsey the compliemnts streamed from his mouth.
“I am very, very happy with him and I believe he will be a tremendous player for Arsenal,” said Wenger.
“He has already improved some areas where you want to improve when you are seventeen-and-a-half years old.
“Aaron is a serious boy, he knows what he wants, is highly committed and for me he has all that is needed to become a good player – not only a good player, but a great player for the club.
“You want to take a little bit of time, this is Arsenal, we are top of the Premier League and you want to give the players the needed development when they come in under such a pressure to perform. He can do that.”
High praise indeed. What did Arsene mean by serious? Maybe highly focused, maybe he has very good determination. I remember watching his debut against Barnet and thought wow, the boy looks good. He really stamped his authority on the game, picking the ball up from the feet of his teammates and driving forward taking all the responsibilites. Granted, it was only Barnet but there was enough in his performance to know that he had many plus points to his game.
All he needs now is to sneak into Cristinao Ronaldo’s house and find his work out schedule and hit the gym, possibily photocopy me a copy, unless it involes hard work, if so then forget it.
We are all excited about watching some more Mexican magic this svening from Carlos Vela. To be honest, I am a little surprised about how little we have seen him. I did hear that Arsene wanted to rest him because he felt that he has doen a lot of traveling in the past few months.
The Carling Cup is the perfect stage for the likes of Vela, Ramsey, Wilshere etc to display their talents. That is why I want the kids to go as far as they can. It would be a massive blow to all the young players who have waited until now to get into the limelight and showcase their talents.
Finally I would like to mention the ever so talented Kevin Nolan’s comments. I thought that, that type of thinking was from the 80’s.
“I have never seen anybody as quick as Theo Walcott in my life,” he told The Sun.
“I said to Jlloyd Samuel, ‘Give him a little kick and see if he comes back at you!’.
“At the end of the day, it is a physical sport. We don’t want to be like basketballers.
“We are in the gym four or five days a week to build ourselves up to try to stand up to challenges like that.
“We are in danger of losing that side – the roughing up of people.”
Can people still tell me that the tackle was a hard but fair tackle when you hear people like Nolan coming out with statements like that.
That is it for now, must dash an all. Drop your view in the comments.
Until tomorrow.
