Why did we start the game 4-5-1? That must mean that Arsene doesn’t currently trust his other strikers
Well that was easy wasn’t it?
I found the Reading match a very strange type of game. As I said in yesterdays MyVision the team haven’t played together since the Manchester United match as Arsene totally changed the team against Slavia Prague. We didn’t know how to pass the ball properly in the first half. Hleb, Cesc and Adebayor all looked out of sorts and gave the ball away on more than once occasion.
Thankfully we grabbed a goal just before half time, wasn’t it a lovely little slip pass from Adebayor for Hleb for the first goal in the build up? Has there ever been a player who can frustrate and look class in the space of 5 minutes as Adebayor can?
We stepped it up in the second half and made Reading look like a Sunday park team that my little brother plays for.. and he is 7!
Question?
Why did we start the game 4-5-1? That must mean that Arsene doesn’t currently trust his other strikers which isn’t a good sign really. Against Manchester United and Liverpool I understand, even though it caused us problems in terms of creating goalscoring chances I still understood that we needed to have more possession against the bigger teams but why go to Reading playing that way? In hindsight that wasn’t a game for Walcott as he would have struggled with our below passing performance and I guess Arsene doesn’t rate Bendtner and Adebayor as a partnership.
Where was Eduardo? Is he injured or is he in Moscow going through some Rocky 4 training regime? Maybe we will see a super Eduardo when he starts his next game.
Cesc Fabregas’ booking was pretty funny and bloody obvious. I wonder if that was planned by Arsene or if that was Cesc’s idea.
Anyway, enough about the Reading match, I intend to do a formal, proper match review this afternoon, so check back later.
News going around today is that Jens Lehmann is to quit the club in January. We sort of knew that was going to happen anyway. Arsene would have already had his sights set on a squad replacement. Which ranking that is, I don’t know. Wenger sees the Fabster as his future number one so I doubt he will buy a first choice keeper maybe another young and upcoming keeper to battle it out.
Ok, train to catch, places to go, work to pretend to do and match reviews to write.
I bid you good day.
