Pretty or ugly? who cares, we are through

If all goes well with the current available squad, we should have a full squad to choose from come the next round. We have almost forgotten what it was like to have Cesc Fabregas in the team, dictating and creating like he does best

Good happy evening to you Gooners out there,

Well I say happy evening but some of you do not seem to be very happy despite doing enough to get into the next round of the Champions League. Moaning about our performance is like finding a bin liner full of £50 notes and then complaining that it is not in a suitcase.

Anyway, I am here to talk about happy things such as fried eggs, Megan Fox and Arsenal. Ok, maybe I will only talk about the third option, there could be scope for www.meganfoxvsion.co.uk we will have to see what the future holds.

We all know that last night wasn’t our greatest attacking performance and that is fair enough, playing away from home against a team that hasn’t lost a home match in something like 12 matches (don’t quote me on that) with the stakes so high, we were bound to find it difficult, but having said that I still feel that we were much better in the first leg than they were in the second, so there is a little ‘everything equals itself up’ for you.

Theo Walcott said that Arsenal hadn’t practice spot kicks which kind of showed last night. Lady luck was clearly watching the game with her L.Luck 4 shirt on in the stands as almost everyone of our penalties could have easily been saved had the keeper guessed the correct way, Many of them were not worse than Eduardo’s but as they say, it is a lottery. Luckily our players chose the correct numbers.

So we could be facing one of these clubs..

Manchester United
Barcelona
Chelsea
Liverpool
Bayern Munich
Villareal
Porto

We have beaten 3 of those sides already this year (Manchester United, Chelsea, Porto) so we shouldn’t be afraid of facing anyone. I would probably fear Liverpool and Bayern more than the current favourites Barcelona and even last year winners Man Utd.

If all goes well with the current available squad, we should have a full squad to choose from come the next round. We have almost forgotten what it was like to have Cesc Fabregas in the team, dictating and creating like he does best.

Eduardo will be missing for the Blackburn game on the weekend, he suffered with a groin problem but luckily it is only a minor problem.

Wenger speaking to Arsenal TV online said:

“Unfortunately we have lost Eduardo with a groin problem,” Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday. “He got it in the first half of extra time and I wonder if that stopped him from taking his penalty that well.

“It shows you that no matter what you do in training when you go to the uncontrolled movements of top, top level competition your body needs time to adjust. It is only a short-term injury but he is out for Saturday.”

Forgotten man, Mikael Silvestre is back from injury but Wenger is unlikely to play him after such a long time out and to be honest he is probably 4th choice center back and third choice left back.

I am looking forward to watching a rested and fitter Arshavin after his break since the Burnley game.

Right quick one tonight as I feel like poo, rest is calling me. So have a good evening.

Back tomorrow.
