I will be very keen to see how the players set up from the beginning. It started as a 4-2-3-1 on Saturday and if it continues then you would have to say that the signs are pointing to a formation that Wenger wants to use

ding ding, round two of the pre season matches for 2009-2010. After a warm up against Barnet the Arsenal seniors have flown to Austria, a place that many of the players will be used to as it has become our home for pre season training.
The younger group beat Lincoln City 3-2 at Sincil Bank on Monday night. Arsene could only fit a few of the younger group in his rucksack for the trip. Jack Wilshere being the obvious one to join the big boys.
Hopefully we shall see a full squad tonight and I wonder if Arsene will put his ‘first team’ together for one of the halves or if he will mix and match his squad to try and learn new partnerships, new theories and combinations.
Many players were missing from the Barnet fixture, the likes of Eduardo, Van Persie, Bendtner, Walcott, Diaby, Ramsey, Cesc, Denilson, Song, Clichy, Sagna and Kolo Toure were all absent over the weekend so Wenger will have many possibilities.
I will be very keen to see how the players set up from the beginning. It started as a 4-2-3-1 on Saturday and if it continues then you would have to say that the signs are pointing to a formation that Wenger wants to use during the season, although you do not really get an idea of what the season will start off like until the Emirates cup.
I would like to know how the team will function without Adebayor, not because he was the best forward in the world because he wasn’t but because he was our focal point. He was the top end of our triangle. I want to know if Eduardo, Van Persie or Bendtner will be the top of the triangle. I want to know if Arshavin will continue in a central area behind the striker or if Van Persie will regain that spot.
I also want to know who the two central midfielders will be. I want to know if Cesc is classed as a central midfielder or an attacking midfield player further up the pitch.
These are all the questions I look forward to watching the answers unfold as the pre season goes on.
As pre season team selections are almost impossible to predict, I have showed the team I would like to see play together, to see how they can or cannot compliment each other.

Fingers crossed first and foremost for an injury free game and hopefully for a more fluid display.
