I firmly believe that we have all the pieces of the puzzle, perhaps Wenger can bring in some shiny reinforced pieces but the overall picture can be put together by Arsene

The clubs are all jockeying to crouch comfortably in their starting positions as the start of the season is moving closer. Some clubs are still to make some final additions to their squads, the transfer window is only really slightly ajar until the final few days when it is pushed wide open to make space for the bargains.
Arsene has been keeping his cards pretty close to his chest in regards to which players he is targeting or not targeting.
As Arsene has said many times, football is not just about buying players, it is about creating a side (squad) strong enough to win football matches. Our squad has been designed to progress, to improve and that is what will happen with a majority of our players. I use the example of Alex Song who was the laughing stock of our club from many fans 12 months ago, nowadays he is a must alongside Cesc Fabregas ahead of the player the same fans were calling the ‘new Vieira’
I have said many times, our season heavily relies on two factors. A far better injury record and the correct attitude in matches. Both very important factors this season.
I was hoping that we could keep our squad together and perhaps reinforce what we had but this was not to be the case. Emmanuel Adebayor has replaced his presence in the forward line for a healthy sum in the bank which could be used during the summer window, if not could be saved for a specific target in January.
Crowd favourite Kolo Toure who hasn’t been at his best for a good 18 months has been replaced by Thomas Vermaelen who is younger and will bring something else to the defence. Captain of former club Ajax and strong in the air, he could be the player that Arsenal have lacked since Sol Campbell departed for Portsmouth.
I firmly believe that we have all the pieces of the puzzle, perhaps Wenger can bring in some shiny reinforced pieces but the overall picture can be put together by Arsene.
Like all Arsene Wenger teams of the past we are very capable of going forward and scoring goals, creating chances and finishing them off but we have been let down further down the pitch. Individually it would be extremely difficult to single out any defensive player we have and point negative fingers at him but as a collective unit we know we have some work to do to get to the very top of English and European football.
So what is different to last season? For a start we have a new system to work with, which may take work to get used to but should help most of our players once they have understood their roles. 4-4-2 has been adapted to 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 depending on the opposition.
This could be the difference against the teams who sit back at the Emirates. With our full backs providing width we could end up matching the opposition midfield as well as having three creative central players. This will require defensive discipline throughout the whole team when we lose possession.
We now have a long list of players who will score 15 goals if fit for next season and without Adebayor in the team, the likes of Eduardo, Arshavin, Bendtner, Van Persie, Walcott and Fabregas are all capable of scoring and creating goals.
It is no longer advantage Manchester United. They have sold their match winner, their inspiration. The one player who can pull out rabbits from the proverbial hat which saw off most of the lower ranked clubs.
Chelsea like pretty much every season have to shuffle around and accommodate a new manager with new ideas,
Liverpool are much the same but have swapped Alonso with Roma’s Aquilani and have overspent on an attacking right back who isn’t the best defensively.
We are not perfect, not by any stretch of the imagination. We have areas that we need to improve on and perhaps buy reinforcements such as the center of midfield and perhaps at center half but you cannot neglect the amount of talent and quality we have at our disposal. With the likes of Cesc, Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky, Walcott and even Wilshere creating chances, players like Eduardo, Van Persie, Bendtner, Vela will score goals, that is almost as guaranteed as it gets.
Bacary Sagna is defensively one of the best right backs in world football, Gael Clichy along with William Gallas are two of the best one on one defenders in the business, with Vermaelen is the mix we have to hope he can add steel and leadership and bring it all together.
The improvement of a vast majority will put the squad in good stead for the whole season.
For Arsenal to win the league we will need many factors to come together, luck with injuries, correct attitude and improvement from a group of young players. It is easy to say that team x have spent more money so they will win but I am going to believe in the squad I support, the manager I support and most importantly the team I support. The Arsenal.
