Gilberto was left out of the Arsenal starting 11 for that same reason. Flamini came in and kept Gilberto out on performance (apparently) so why is this not the case for Kolo Toure. I love Toure but if a player in your place is helping the team win matches
I got a little bit of a telling off in yesterday’s comments. That is what you get for actually thinking what the press say is actually the ‘truth’ yes, I should of known better.
I am referring to the reports about William Gallas not having any friends at Arsenal, what they failed to mention was that he said he doesn’t have any ‘English’ friends at the club and that is why he mentioned Theo Walcott and his age.
It is quite crazy how the tabloids and general media have it in for Arsenal football club.
I am still unsure about the Gallas, Toure partnership though. Senderos should not have been disregarded as he stepped in to great effect during Toure’s absence.
Gilberto was left out of the Arsenal starting 11 for that same reason. Flamini came in and kept Gilberto out on performance (apparently) so why is this not the case for Kolo Toure. I love Toure but if a player in your place is helping the team win matches then you have to keep the same side.
I just hope Toure can find his form before the Liverpool match.
Good news, the FA have charged Javier Mascherano for stupidly getting sent of against Manchester United which will hopefully mean that he will miss the Premier League clash against us.
He is the kind of player who is good at stopping us play our normal narrow game. He would sit infront of his central defenders and stop Fabregas, Hleb etc linking up with Adebayor and Van Persie.
Gael Clichy is confident of an Arsenal revival.
“The manager is still confident. At the moment, we are alongside Chelsea in the battle to catch Manchester United.
“They are not dropping many points at the moment but there is still a long way to go. Honestly, I think Arsenal have the quality to come back from this. We just have to work hard.
“We haven’t had a lot of luck in the last few matches. We had our chances [against Chelsea] but we didn’t do what we had to win.”
Nicklas Bendtner was on the score sheet for Denmark against Czech Republic. As I have said previously he has deserved a run of games in the first team but unfortunately for him Adebayor has been fit all season and Togo did not qualify for the ACN. Tomas Rosicky also had a very good game… oh yeah, he didn’t play because he is injured as usual.
I watched the France vs England match in the end and recorded The Apprentice. Glen Hoddle was a little over critical on England I thought. I can see the difference from McClaren’s England side already. England are actually passing the ball through the team and not just using Beckham, Gerrard and the full backs to launch long passes straight to the opposition which was very interesting to see.
England were the better side for long periods of that game but as we have of late, looked a bit toothless in the final third. It would been more productive to have had Rooney in the Gerrard position floating behind a quick powerful explosive striker. The trouble is England do not have an English Nicolas Anelka. Michael Owen is lightweight and is absent for far to long during matches.
When I saw the line up I instantly thought it was far to defensive, not enough going forward. Rooney is going to drop off the forward line, Gerrard is still a central box to box midfield player not a number 10. Beckham received his 100th cap and was fairly average.
It is well documented that I do not like International friendlies , especially England ones but I actually enjoyed this one. It is nice to see football being played properly after years of utter utter crap. Capello still has a few things to sort out but he is going in the right direction
Claude Makelele was the best player on the pitch for me, he was incredible in the holding role, even at his age.
William Gallas agrees that England are heading in the right direction
“It was not easy to beat England,” the he told Sky Sports News.
“They play very strong and they were very compact. For me, England are back.”
Miralem Pjanic is being linked with us again by Metz sporting director Joel Muller. He seems to view this 17 year old very highly.
“As we are going to be relegated we have no choice and have to sell our jewel to earn money. I think that a team like Arsenal would help him to continue his education, with a coach-educator like Arsene Wenger and regarding the football they play, it would definitely be a good option.”
“His technique is amazing; he reads the game and knows what is going to happen before everybody. He can play with his left foot, with his right foot and always creates the best situations.
“He anticipates and is a great passer. He can be a playmaker behind two strikers. I know that Arsenal don’t play with a playmaker, but Miralem can be used on the wing as well.
Well it does sound like an Arsene Wenger type signing if I have ever heard one. Especially given the fact that Metz are going down this season. He is another central player though. Anyhow nothing is happening now so lets wait and see what happens.
Right I am off to watch The Apprentice before I do some work.
Until tomorrow.
Update: Apologies, I did actually mean Premier League clash
