Spurs in better shape than Arsenal? Don’t make me laugh / Injury update

It makes you wonder how any old ex player can get a job in the media and share their views. Actually having a bit of common sense could go a long way

Big game tomorrow ey? I suppose Arsenal vs the inferior is always a big game especially for the inferior, probably because they are.. inferior. Judging by Robbie Keane’s comments over the last few days it appears that the Spurs players are equally as deluded as their misguided support.

Speaking of misguided, I have just read an article by one of the worst pundits in the business, Tony Cascarino. I wish I was basing that view on just this one article but unfortunately the guy has had a history of talking complete and utter tosh. It makes you wonder how any old ex player can get a job in the media and share their views. Actually having a bit of common sense could go a long way.

Dean Kiely seems to be one of the few exceptions. Speaking on ‘you’re on sky sports’ after the Carling Cup victory in midweek, I got the sense that he actually thought about what he was saying and wasn’t just coping the usual bull that is passed around by ex players without really finding out any information on the subject themselves.

Going back to my old friend ‘Cazza’ he claims that the Tottenham board are showing ‘More Ambition’ than Arsenal.

Cascarino said:

For me, their board are showing more ambition than Arsenal’s. Whereas, the next few years look bright for Tottenham; I see problems ahead for the Gunners with talks of takeovers which may lead to uncertainty rather than unity. This could mean that the gap closes even further on and off the field.

*sigh*

If you call buying back ex players for loads of money and then selling one of them months later for a loss as showing ambition then well done to Spurs. For someone to come out in public and say that the future at Spurs looks bright while Arsenal look uncertain is just unbelievable. You couldn’t make this stuff up.

You could probably make a decent amount of money from idiots like Cascarino. He would probably bet that Spurs would get further in this years Champions League.

We seem to be in the middle of another injury cycle. Fabianski who returned in midweek is now out for three weeks or so. The goal keeping choice is now back to two options. I expect Manuel Almunia to regain his place in between the sticks unless there is some sort of personal problem going in behind the scenes.

Samir Nasri made it through without any problems against Liverpool but judging by Wenger’s comments after the game it is unlikely that he will feature against Spurs so soon after making his comeback.

Our right side of attack has been decimated somewhat. Rosicky, Walcott and Nasri will all be missing from the game which is a shame because they all add so much to our attacking play.

Emmanuel Adebayor has been talking again and this is what I have to say about it.

Yep, pretty much nothing at all. I do not care to read what he has to say and certainly not write about his comments.

Right, got to go. Match talk probably tomorrow morning. Enjoy your Friday.
