Super Cesc back to ease fixture congestion & Wenger’s future

If we can get hold of our rhythm during that game then we will be set up nicely for the rest of the games. Luckily for us, Cesc Fabregas should be back, hopefully wearing his superman outfit underneath his Arsenal kit

Good afternoon to you Gooners,

The disappointment from the weekend’s result is starting to shift into more of a positive light as the hours go by. Everton played somewhere near their best whilst we were off the pace and couldn’t find our game yet we still dominated the possession and created most of the few chances that were created.

The massive plus was the way the team fought to the very end to get something out of the game, they did not roll over and give up and the inform man Abou Diaby was key to our equaliser. Once again we see how important his ability is to run with the ball instead of just looking to pass. We rode our luck with both of our goals but isn’t that what you need to do if you are to end up as Champions?

Currently we are three points off the leaders having played the same amount of games as the Chavs, this is a good position to be in, Of course we all wanted to win our home games and start our fixture pile up only one point behind but three points can be turned around in one weekend.

My one concern I have with the Arsenal is the run of difficult games coming at a time when our momentum have been disrupted. I was very confident about facing those teams when we beat Pompey but we find ourselves with players carrying knocks, players coming back to the squad without match sharpness during a time when the surfaces will not be favourable.

We are going to need more than the ability that this squad have, we will need plenty of mental determination and positive attitude because make no mistake about it, it is going to be tough. Hopefully tougher for our opponents. A sparkling performance at Bolton is something I am praying to the footballing gods for.

If we can get hold of our rhythm during that game then we will be set up nicely for the rest of the games. Luckily for us, Cesc Fabregas should be back, hopefully wearing his superman outfit underneath his Arsenal kit. We missed his quality against Everton. Denilson should also be back which would be fantastic. The last thing we need is more adjustments to a midfield that has already had to deal with changes.

When Denilson collapsed to the floor, I feared the worst. It looked very serious and could have ruled him out for months, well that was my first thought but according to him, he seems to be ok, the scan today should let Wenger know.

It wasn’t Denilson’s best game on the weekend but he has done the job in our 4-3-3 a few times and has played well so I have no worries about his future performances. If he can remain fit until Song comes back then we should be fine.

I would like to see the overall statistics but surely our midfield has been the best in the league so far. Cesc on his own must be leading both the goal scoring and assists charts on his own then you add the contributions of Song and the recent consistency from Diaby and you are surely looking at the best.

Many would have glanced enviously at the Chelsea midfield but now I see nothing special apart from the Bison who is some player, I would be struggling to want to incorporate any other blue in our midfield. Yes I am a proud wearer of red tinted spectacles.

Interesting news regarding Arsene Wenger and his future, he has said that he wants to give himself time to think about his future which is not at all surprising is it? One thing that I have learnt is that our manager does not talk about his intentions on a new contract early, he keeps it personal and keeps the upper hand. He knows that the board want him and he knows that most clubs in world football would do all they can to get him to their club so why should he show his hand early?

I am sure he wants to know what direction the club will be going in before he commits to a new contract. Will the Kronk complete a takeover and if so how will the club be run? Wenger is doing the only thing he can right now and that is to show patience.

If the club continues along the same path as it is currently going then I would be very surprised if Arsene was to leave with so many of his squad on the up but at some point he will leave and we will have to be prepared for that situation to arrive.

Moving away from Arsenal for a moment, I was watching some of the Angola vs Mali match on Eurosport and I watched Angola go 4-1 up. Angola passed the ball quicker and looked sharper going forward. Mali had just scrambled a goal back before I turned off. Mali were not fluid enough going forward so a comeback was not going to happen with such little time remaining.

Increidably I read that the game ended 4-4. that will teach me to be impatient. I am looking forward to the remaining ACN games.

Back again tomorrow.
