Jack’s Back,Sort Of / Squad Depth Stronger Than We Thought / Diaby

It looks as if we should have another member ready to join the squad shortly. Abou Diaby played 60 minutes for the Arsenal reserves at Liverpool this afternoon. I only managed to watch the first half but he looked decent mixed in with a few flashes of brilliance. The way he turns players and then eats up the ground in a short space of time with his powerful running is a joy to behold. He scored the Arsenal equaliser according to updates on Twitter so that is great for him. I would imagine that the game tomorrow will be too soon after his run

Liverpool (a) Thoughts & Line Up: Play It Again Arsene

Arsenal dressing room but I think my excuses were a little obvious and they stopped me from leaving. Not sure how that ended, we probably stuffed them 5-2 or something. That type of score line today is improbable, I can see a very tight and defensive game from the home side and if they stop us playing then I am not sure how much football will be played, that of course will all change if we can score an early goal and the early goal will depend on how we start the match. I have watched a few Liverpool v Manchester United games at

Diaby Dreams, Gardening Gibbs & Reaching ‘The Vibe’

Theo Walcott has been talking up the impact of Gervinho and I would have to concur. He really gives us something different and as I have said a few times in the past. Even when he is off his game he still gives us that threat. He may have misplaced his last three passes but you want the ball back at his feet because he can burst past two defenders and completely open up the opposition. 5 assists in 8 Premier league games is very impressive for a player still adapting.

Injuries The New Transfer Rumour & The Margin Between Scapegoat or Hero

I would love to see the stats on points and league position based on the amount of changes made to a team over the course of the season. I doubt that we have ever used so many different players at this stage of the season since Arsene Wenger has been at the club and it is little wonder that we are swimming around the bottom half of the table right now. You can bet your bottom quid that once we have a settled side together who actually stay somewhere near fit then we will start to rise up the

The name that can win us the league & The Diaby – Song partnership

My only concern would be the match fitness of the returning players. As good as a player is, usually they need to have a had a few games under their belts before we see the best and we do not have a few games to ease players back in. I am thinking more of Theo Walcott and Alex Song. While Cesc may need fine tuning, he still can see passes that other players do not and his ability to make the final

Birmingham City (n) Caring Cup Final Predictions: Diaby, Bendtner & Rosicky – Who will start?

Perhaps apart from Tomas Rosicky we do not have the same type of player who depend on their passing and vision more than anything else. Whilst the likes of Nasri, Wilshere and Ramsey are all good passers of the ball but none of them have the same level of vision and can pick a pass in the

Cesc’s absence could give Jack the freedom of expression

I was thinking about the implications of missing our captain in the next couple of games. There is a stat going around about Arsenal's win percentage this season with and without Cesc. Something like 70% with him in the side and 40+% without him. On the face of it, that sounds quite remarkable but I think those statistics are a little bit mischievous when you consider that we have often played our second string side when Cesc hasn't been
