Hull City (a) – Iwobi’s Footballing Brain, Theo’s Been Tidying Up & Fluidity Returns

Coquelin’s role in our build up has been a cause of frustration in recent games from Arsenal fans but I don’t think that acquisition can be levelled at him yesterday. He received the ball in tight spaces between the lines and recycled quickly. He also passed between the lines without any issues. He is no Iniesta but he was fantastic yesterday. Cazorla too played an important role yesterday and linked up very well with Mesut Ozil in particular. He tired a little in the second half and was on a knife edge in regards to his early booking but it begs the question

Hull City (a) Thoughts & Predicted Line Up: Xhaka & Elneny to start say Orange Bib FC

n short, he is still adjusting, it’s about partnerships so I wonder who suits him the most and also that he sees Xhaka as a box to box player. Now I am no manager and I’m one of those weird blokes who actually thinks the Arsenal manager has a better grasp of the game than I do but I really don’t see Xhaka in any other position than deep midfield, sitting distributing and making tackles. So if Xhaka is starting in the midfield, who is the best partner for him given that Arsene apparently wants him to play as a number 8 or maybe that is further down the line

Hull City (a) – Giroud & Walcott Score The Goals While Elneny & Iwobi Continue To Impress

There were some good individual performances on the night. The more I see of Elneny, the more I like him. Doesn't look to do anything flashy or highlight worthy, just makes good decisions from start to finish. Because of this, he rarely loses the ball, when you combine that with someone who works so hard on the pitch you cannot help but feel excited about his future role in the team. Alex Iwobi continues to look the part, gliding across the pitch, knitting everything together with his early and accurate passing

Hull CIty (a) Thoughts & Line Up: The Ramsey/Cazorla conundrum & Rediscovering that spark

Needless to say though, if we find our best form then we will have too much for Hull. The slight concern is that in our last two games we've dropped off a little. In our last three games we've only scored 3 goals and two of those were against a Championship side. That being said, I thought we looked pretty sharp against Chelsea in the first half even if we were not able to find a way through. At this stage it doesn't seem as if we will see a great deal of changes, the run in is all about momentum and stability but I wonder if Arsène will continue to use Aaron Ramsey wide on the right. I thought he performed pretty well against Chelsea, he just did not provide us with the outlet that a more natural wide player would. But once more you'd have to drop a player who is in good form and important to the team. I just don't see that happening right about now.
