Today was meant to be a good day, Arsenal stole a march on Lille (Of all teams) for Park Chu Young, just got him to travel to London instead of Lilles ground for his medical. It was a good sign and progress we were making in the market. But NO. He wasn't well known enough for you Gloomers, he wasn't a big enough name, the fee wasn't big enough! To give you some stats then, he is the South Korea Captain, so a big name in Korea. His fee is £3m+£2m due to Monaco's relegation, guarantee his
I may be wrong but I really believe and rightly so in my opinion that Wenger see's Koscielny and Vermaelen as his first choice partnership. He wants those two to develop an understanding and remain at the heart of our defence for many years to come. A player in the mould of Cahill, Jagielka would compliment those two and cover for injuries, suspensions and games against the usual. I don't need to

Considering the fact they were thrust in at the deep end, the kids didn’t do too badly. An undeniable ray of light was Emanuel ‘DEEEEEEEENCH’ Frimpong whose performance before his red card has been rightly lauded from all quarters. After all the tippy-tappy, it’s refreshing to see a more combative element to the Arsenal midfield. There’s no way the team will ever be considered a ‘soft touch’ with this lad charging about like a rabid rhinoceros on speed. For all the talk of Arsene Wenger’s youth policy

With Laurent Koscielny still struggling for fitness, the return of Johan Djourou will ease Wenger's fears slightly, I didn't want to see Alex Song moved back into defence for such an important game, especially
There was a particularly poignant moment when he instigated a passage of play, trotted over to take the subsequent corner, received a round of applause from the North Bank and applauded them back. Heck, his song even got an airing too. I was mighty proud of the Emirates faithful on Saturday for a number of reasons – including a defiant chant of “We love you Arsenal”

So the least player we can get in an attacking mid role is Eden hazard, he looks quite a player and i personally think he's better than juan mata but if we are going to spend almost 25mil on a belgian player playing in the french league ( no offense for both

Emmanuel Frimpong has quite frightening potential. A fighter, fully of commitment and a physical freak of nature. As Arsene said, he needs to control his enthusiasm. His second yellow card was fully justified. Mistimed and reckless. His first yellow card was laughable. A Liverpool player played a pass and Sagna slid in attempting to cut the pass out. The ball went out of play and it was not clear if a touch was

The positives from the game was our back 4 and Frimpong. Vermaelen was gold on the day, Caroll didn't get a sniff. Vermaelen won everything on ground and in the air, its a real shame we didn't get to keep a clean sheet on that kind of performance. Miquel was very impressive and he was very unlucky that his clearance hit Ramsey and went in to give Liverpool the lead. Jenkinson was impressive too

He seems to me as too much of a long term kind of man. Sometimes sacrifices must be made, and so be it, for the sake of the short and mid term, which in turn will benefit the long term. I mean, to me it makes perfect sense: why are some of our best players leaving? Had we won the league a couple of times and a Champions League with cesc would he have left for Barcelona?

In defence, we definitely have Gibbs out of proceedings tomorrow, Djourou is rated 50-50. We saw Jenkinson make his debut for us in the Champions League the other night and to be honest I wasn't convinced with his performance at left back. Yeah, I agree he isn't a left back and he would suffer against a Liverpool side who are likely to play Downing on the right of their attack to trouble the inexperienced Jenkinson. Jenkinson on the right is his preferred position, while Sagna on the left who
