Barcelona (h) Post Match Thoughts: Wenger vindicated as Gunners beat the best on special Emirates night

Arsenal allowed their defenders to have the ball and Van Persie dropped back into midfield. Our defenders were pushed up high with the intension of flooding the midfield and not allowing them the space to combine and dominate the game. Barcelona are technically so good that even with a very

Vermaelen spin, Nani & The type of player I would buy for Arsenal

I really like the idea of having an explosive, fast, skilful striker who was born to score goals. A 23 year old who would still improve and who was not afraid to miss chances. Someone who can be marked tightly for 80 minutes and then drill a snapshot into the far corner on the net on his weaker side. Off the top of my head, the type of player I am thinking of is a Samuel Eto'o of a few years ago. Don't ask me about where he would fit in with the rest of the players we have in that position because someone would probably have to go but that is the type of player that I would love to have in our

Why Song should go and not stay & Converting chances must improve

What that actually means is 'we have only watched them on highlights and only know where they have come from and haven't the foggiest about their strengths and weaknesses. This is the problem really, many pundits are often talking from a season behind reality. Fabianski to them is the keeper who came in cold, low on confidence and made blunder after blunder. Hopefully by next season he will be the actual keeper that we see today. I find it hilarious that we actually get so much more knowledge from blogs from in fact Joe Blogs who write down their views in their spare time rather than x player who is being paid a shed load of cash to

Formations, Line ups & Rival squads

Imagine we had bloody Bebe in our squad, getting games. Wenger would be absolutely crucified for buying him for £7 million, especially when someone like Van der Vaart would have done the world of good for them at almost the same price. For those who were screaming for Wenger to be sacked last week, I would genuinely like to know your thoughts on the quality of our rivals when they have lost badly. Like the Mancs on Tuesday and Chelsea losing 3-0 to Sunderland at home. Is this just a blip

Competition for places is hotting up & Arsenal are the norm which is great

It is fantastic to hear that both Robin Van Persie and Aaron Ramsey are almost ready for first team consideration, although the latter will be brought in at a slower pace for obvious reasons. Having said that, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Van Persie pick up a niggle before Ramsey regardless of how serious Ramsey's injury was. We have missed a world class striker and potentially a world class midfielder from our squad, you could almost forget how big those two are for us and they will make a difference to our squad when they come back into the team
