The league match after that is against Sunderland however and they too have lost their most prolific striker of the past few seasons. They will undoubtedly miss him – he scored some irritating goals against us - and with the much improved Wellbeck currently injured you have to fancy our chances against them. Gyan is a player I like and will of course cause us problems but I am still glad to face them
I really take my hat off to Lukasz Fabianski this season. I think silence from Arsenal supporters is perhaps massive praise in itself. The January transfer window is here, Almunia is set to depart the club yet hardly a whisper of a new goalkeeper is in sight. It is a testament to how much he has improved as a keeper. Perhaps he hasn't actually improved at all, maybe he has found himself a run of games to iron out those flaws and build confidence. It is the reason why Wenger has stood by him and why Wenger has always believed in him.
I really hope to see a good display on the weekend. We have shown patches of top form and then drop off. The first 45 minutes against the Spuds, the first half an hour against both Villa and Fulham were fantastic but then we stop. I want to see us start and finish in the same purposeful
I'm not even going to bother with the 'best manager we've ever had' disclaimer as this doesn't exonerate him from criticism. And even if people do choose to criticise him, that in no way indicates that they don't appreciate everything he has done.
