Newcastle (a) Thoughts & Predictions: Diaby & Wilshere to form an intriguing combination

Like I have already eluded to earlier, I expect Diaby to be a key figure in our performance. A player who can pull out an amazing piece of skill which will open up 10 yards of space and then misplace his next pass from five yards away. Usually the latter only happens when he is not quite up to speed and perhaps he isn't at his sharpest yet but mistakes should be limited as his role maybe a little simplified

We cannot forget Ramsey, Almunia return & Hill-Wood speaks up

A forgotten man, Manuel Almunia has recovered from his erm 'injury' and could take his place in goal. That will be his first game since the horror show against West Brom all those months ago. The rumours that have been doing the rounds are that he does not want to sit on the bench as second choice which isn't really the stance I thought someone like Almunia would take. Obviously I am dealing with just a rumour here but it does seem to add up. I do not believe that he has had an

West Ham (a) Post Match Thoughts: Theo Van Nasrigas prove to be a Bridge too far

Wenger spoke about Jack's ability to play passes through the lines and find the likes of Cesc and that was evident last night. Nasri, Cesc and Van Persie were being found with diagonal passes into feet from Wilshere time and time again. Wilshere also makes so much space for himself by letting the ball run across his body and then almost glides through a sandwich of opposition midfielders before finding a

Transfer rumour pain, Wilshere & Chelsea thoughts

Newsnow has always been my trusty news source, you used to be able to find a good array of articles, stories or even some really good tactical ramblings. You would get the odd article that was begging for a click. 'Arsenal set to tie up record mega deal super smash' that would have the 12 year olds fighting over themselves to click through and pretend that it could actually be real. I've been there myself

The importance of Wolves, Cesc & Wilshere’s position

In his deeper position he gets plenty of the ball and his distribution is very good but I cannot help feel that watching Wilshere lay off a first time five yard pass back to Koscielny is a waste of his ability. Of course he will be pushed forward in the future and he is currently learning his trade but in certain games when our passing is not breaching the opposition enough (yes Newcastle match I am looking at you) I feel that Wilshere's drive forward from a more advanced position can help break down teams and open spaces that have been shut for long periods
