On the other hand Robin Van Persie scored a brace last night for Holland against Mexico. Two quality finishes from a top striker. I have a very good feeling about Robin
He was also asked if he could guarantee that he would be at Arsenal for the new season and he replied ‘No’
Apologies for the above statement in yesterdays blog, that was taken from a sensationalist website and I should know better than to expect the truth. Having listened to the actual interview it looks like his words can be interpreted in many different ways.
1) I have spoken to Arsene Wenger and he has assured me that I can leave, I am now going to concentrate on the world cup until a deal is done.
2) I have spoken to Arsene and he has convinced me that I need to be at Arsenal, he is working behind the scenes to make us the very best in the world.
3) Arsene has told me that I have a long term contract and I have to honour that contract, it is down to Arsenal.
The rumours are that Arsenal have told Barcelona that Cesc is not for sale at any price and not to waste anymore time. If that is the case then it fills me with pride what as I keep saying, we shall see.
On the other hand Robin Van Persie scored a brace last night for Holland against Mexico. Two quality finishes from a top striker. I have a very good feeling about Robin. He took some adjusting in his new role and once he got going he flew. Creating or scoring in pretty much every game he played in until his injury.
The world cup can be used to sharpen his boots for the new campaign, he is fresh so will not suffer burn out. Surely now he can last the whole season without any long term problems. If he does we will win the league, that I have no doubt.
Watching Robin shape to shoot then jink inside, leaving his opponent sliding past him on the floor is a sight to behold. A sight that we clearly did not see enough last season.
Interesting quotes from Bacary Sagna in regards to Dynamo Kiev central defender Pape Malickou Diakhate.
Sagna said:
‘I don’t know what the plan is for next year. We are all waiting to see what the manager does but Malickou he would be very welcome in our team, He is Senegalese like me and plays for the national team. He played for Nancy in France so I played against him a few times and he is very dangerous at set-pieces. I have met him a few times and he is a very good guy and a very good player.’
You do not often here our players talking about speculation, I wonder if there is something more than just rumour. This is how quiet it is. I am talking about our players commenting on the speculation that I usually do not speculate on.
On that note, I ought to just cut my losses.
Back again tomorrow.
