Speaking hypothetically, I have slight concerns about having a massive guy up front. Without ever watching this kid play I cannot imagine that he has the same type of playing style as Robin Van Persie
I am sat here shaking at the keyboard and it is nothing to do with the cold, I have been breaking out into hot sweats and my finger nails have pretty much had it. The cancellation of the match yesterday has sent me into shock and I have to wait until Saturday (fingers crossed) before I can be saved. I am well and truly struggling with Arsenalitius.
Looking at the long term, it cannot help throwing in yet another fixture in an already congested fixture list but we have some nice cuddly positives to play with. Firstly David Moyes would have let out a big sigh as us Gooners did when the news broke that the game had been postponed. Our players will be fresh and ready to match the energy levels of his Everton side, more importantly many of our players like Denilson and Arshavin will have an extra three days to rest knocks that they would have carried into the game and we know that set backs can happen to players who have yet to fully recover with strains, just look at Cesc against Villa.
Speaking of Cesc, we have an extra game with him hopefully ready to play as we would have missed him for two games, now he only misses the Everton game.
I am more annoyed that we haven’t had the chance to leapfrog Manchester United into second place, I am looking forward to that so I can text a rather annoying Manchester United supporter who thinks we will not get above them again this season, so they have just screwed that up for me, well hopefully I will get my wish on Saturday as the Mancs will lose their fixture against Birmingham later that afternoon.
Much has been made of this striker search and names have been passed in and out of the media on a regular basis. I have pretty much ignored all the reports but the latest name to be thrown our way looks much more realistic. 19 years old, Ivorian, 6ft 8in powerhouse Lacina Traore looks like the raw front man that Wenger would pursue.
The president of the club opening his mouth to get attention around Europe and the player stating how much he would like to play for Wenger stinks of a realistic possibility and not just the usual media hack creation.
6ft 8?! Blinking bloomers mate, that is bloody huge. Peter Crouch will have to look upwards if marking him from a set piece and that just says it all.
If we do or don’t buy this guy, please can people stop calling him the new Adebayor, why would you want to disrespect this kid? He is only 19 and doesn’t deserve that. Everyone has to be the new this or the new that.
Speaking hypothetically, I have slight concerns about having a massive guy up front. Without ever watching this kid play I cannot imagine that he has the same type of playing style as Robin Van Persie, I wouldn’t want our attacking play to be infected with the lumping it long disease. Flipping the coin around he would bring many plus points to our side, defensively and offensively his aerial ability would help the team. Going forward the likes of Sagna, Eboue and Traore and so on would have a target to aim for in the center.
Anyway, I am clearly getting carried away with myself, talk like that can only really be done when/if anyone puts pen to paper.
One player I am hoping puts pen to paper is William Gallas. Our former captain has been absolutely sensational so far this season. Thomas Vermaelen being the new guy has been credited with much of the plaudits this season but in fact William Gallas has actually made fewer mistakes so far and has helped the classy Vermaelen settle in.
So Patrick Vieira will join Manchester City and I have mixed feelings about that. I have been preparing myself for pure hate when Manchester City visit the Emirates but that cannot be anymore. How Emmanuel Adebayor and Patrick Vieira can feature on the same side is just far too confusing for my brain to handle.
I wish him good luck, apart from any future games against us of course but I would advise City fans not to look through old Arsenal footage on You Tube for a glimpse of the player they are set to sign, that would be unfair. However his leadership skills as well as his determination would be a bonus for many a squad around the country.
Before I go, I would like to say how much these snow jokes have to stop. To be honest they are a load of bullsleet.
Back again tomorrow.
