Arshavin will be vital to the way we play, at least that is the opinion of new short term coach Guus Hiddink. He claims that Arsene had spoken to him before signing Arshavin
I tell you what for just about nothing, I really enjoyed the Spain England game. On the whole I hate international football, boring tedious and negative on the whole but the game last night was very enjoyable, and that was nothing to do with England, sorry to say.
The Spanish look as if they have trained together every day since they won the Euros. Fantastic display of pass and movement football. You can bet your bottom dollar, or maybe your top pound that Arsene would have been watching that and purring. I was very impressed with Iniesta who was a creative little spark in the Spanish midfield. I thought he looked fairly average when he was a substitute at Barcelona a few seasons ago.
Watching that just makes me want all of our players back and quickly because I know we are more than capable of that kind of football. We haven’t witnessed that for a while and it makes me sad *sniff*
Lets hope it is not long before we get Cesc, Rosicky back and Arshavin settled.
Arshavin will be vital to the way we play, at least that is the opinion of new short term coach Guus Hiddink. He claims that Arsene had spoken to him before signing Arshavin.
Hiddink said:
“We talked about Arshavin, what he’s like as a player, as a person, Arsenal’s playing style, a short-passing, fast game, will suit Arshavin. He is what you call a game breaker, he can decide the outcome of any match. I would say those qualities, along with being a very smart and mentally tough player, have convinced Arsene Wenger to sign him.”
We sure have missed that bit of quality in the final third of late.
Back to the international front, Super Ed’s made his return to his country and set up the winner for Portsmouth wide boy Niko Kranjcar. Eduardo came off the bench for the last half an hour and made an impact which will be great for his confidence.
I have little else to talk about today, that and a load of work that I need to do so I must wave you all goodbye. But before I do, a reader kindly contacted the site and recommended that Arsenal Vision join www.twitter.com, I do not know much about it so I have made it rather basic at the moment but please join if you have used the whole twitter thingy and I will find out some more about it. The URL is www.twitter.com/arsenalvision of course you can just click that link.
Back again tomorrow.
