How long will Bendtner be at Arsenal? Will he ever displace Adebayor who is only 23 years old with plenty of room for improvement? Not for the short term anyway. I cannot see Bendtner here for the long term for the short term
I could have wrote pages upon pages in yesterdays bog but I think that I will find it a little testing to write very much today as to be honest there is not much going on in the world of Arsenal Football Club.
It looks as if I feel for the story yesterday published by the Daily Mail. Peter Hill-Wood’s quotes were about Flamini and not this new midfield dude which I thought was pretty strange at the time.
I do not like the fact that Flamini still hasn’t signed the contract, it makes me feel uneasy. Yes no player is bigger than the club and we would survive without Flamini but unless Arsene signed a Premier League ready replacement who is better then it will be at least a short term backwards step.
Congratulations to Theo Walcott who has found his way into Fabio Capello’s England squad. His form lately has been alot better than it was earlier in the season. A few good training sessions with Capello and he may find himself getting some playing time.
It just shows how fast football changes. It only seemed like yesterday when Theo went to the world cup and couldn’t get on the pitch, Aaron Lennon was making a massive impression and now the Spurs winger cannot even find a place in the squad.
Nick Bendtner has claimed that Adebayor and himself can play together.
Bendtner said: “People keep saying we are too similar in style and things like that, but I think it can work just fine. If you remember, we combined for the goal against Aston Villa.
“I think it went quite well (against Wigan). We found each other a few times, but it wasn’t easy on that surface, especially for two strikers to link up. I thought it worked okay.
I feel sorry for Bendtner. He is finding it hard to get many games even at this stage of the season when the players are tired and in need of rest. The trouble is Arsene Wenger views Adebayor as one of the focal points of the team, so it is unlikely to see him rested. The Togo hitman has not had many injuries so far and Arsene obviously would rather not partner the two together as he thinks they are similar. Much in the way that Arsene did not pair Bergkamp and Kanu together.
How long will Bendtner be at Arsenal? Will he ever displace Adebayor who is only 23 years old with plenty of room for improvement? Not for the short term anyway. I cannot see Bendtner here for the long term for the short term which is a shame because his link up play is better than Adebayor’s and has great potential. But the pace, work, commitment and goals from Adebayor has been priceless for Arsenal this season, and there can be no doubting that he had been key to our successful season so far.
Well, like I said there is not much to talk about so I will end it short and err., not even that sweet but hey, what can you do?
Enjoy good Friday and be good.
Until tomorrow.
