Good’ay yarl,
Appologies once again for the lack of post yesterday. I am saying that a little too often these days. I had plenty to say but didn’t have the time to sit at the laptop.
So Fabio Capello works his magic once again. Lovely second goal for Wayne Rooney, nice move and a finish that Adebayor wouldn’t attempt. Not a criticism as such. Just an observation.
Theo Walcott didn’t have a very good game and made several bad decisions during the game. I think Theo will have inconsistency in his game for a while to come. I don’t actually think it is an age thing. Walcott currently doesn’t seem to do average very often. Its either fantastic or disappointing.
I read an interesting article comparing Hleb and Walcott’s stats on Setanta

It shows how good a team player Hleb was. The amount of passes compared to Walcott is quite amazing. Theo is however very productive , with twice as many goals. with double the amount of crosses in just under half the amount of minutes on the pitch compared to Hleb.
I didn’t get the chance to write about Ramsey after his wonderful performance against England u21s.
I wrote this 6 days ago.
8th October 2008 – Aaron the new Cesc? Diaby the saviour?
I must say I like the look of Ramsey, he is more of an all action hero than Cesc is. I suppose you can say he is a blend of Gerrard and Cesc the one thing that he doesn’t have at his age that Cesc had was the ability to keep the ball. Cesc always made the right choice, always had the correct weight of pass. Aaron Ramsey seems to have what he wants to do in his head but then either plays the ball too softly or doesn’t find his intended target.
What I do like about Mr Ramsey is his attitude, something the rest of the squad lack at present. I remember his debut against Barnet and was impressed about how he wanted to stamp his authority on the game but taking the ball from the feet of his defenders and driving forward, making things happen, dictating the play. We have never seen the Ramsey / Cesc central partnership but I am not sure if it could work at this stage.
I am still do not think the Cesc and Ramsey partnership could work long term but I do think that Ramsey will become a fabulous player for Arsenal and Wales. He is probably the most rounded 17 year old that I have seen for sometime.
Cesc Fabregas is a doubt for the next league game against Everton after suffering with a broken nose on International duty.
Lets hope that he heals quickly.
Gotta run, enjoy the rest of the day. Back tomorrow.
