There are rumours flying around the press that Theo Walcott is likely to be handed a start tonight which could be interesting considering his two substitute appearances
Good Morning,
Champions League night tonight and as usual I am ever so looking forward to it. Once again we are on ITV4 and glory glory Manchester Untied are on ITV, It makes me sick. The amount of times the so called big 3 have been live on sky more times than Jade Goody has been on big brother.
Well at least I have ITV4 and can watch our small little club attempt to win our 13 match in a row.
Arsene Wenger has been talking about the squad at the moment and he has stated that he has never had such strong competition for places.
“I have never had that situation before,” said Wenger at his pre-match press conference. “It can be a problem when you have young players coming through.
“At the start you don’t think ‘they are not established, why does he play and he does not play?’
“But you can only trust what you see. It is a little bit the price of the team doing well on a consistent level for four, five, six games. It’s unjust to change the team if you are doing well.”
“Until the team for the next game has come out you fight for your place, and once it’s come out you fight against your opponents together. There’s even competition for the subs bench and there will be world class players not involved tomorrow.”
Lassana Diarra who has revealed his disappointment at not playing is not even in the squad for the Champions League clash. Oh dear.
Adebayor has compared himself to a mixture of Kanu and Drogba which is pretty much exact really. He is improving as a player and has already made huge strides since he joined but he needs to improve his conversion rate and he knows this himself.
“When I first came to London a lot of people were saying ‘he’s a very good player but not such a good finisher’, and I’d like to prove them wrong,” he told Arsenal’s official magazine.
There are rumours flying around the press that Theo Walcott is likely to be handed a start tonight which could be interesting considering his two substitute appearances in the last two league matches. If he does start will it be on the right with Hleb rested or will it be his time upfront alongside Adebayor? Whichever all eyes will be on the young Englishman tonight should he start.
Another 3 points tonight would be lovely, hopefully we can rest a few players for the two big ones coming up.
